Ugh this is getting out of hand. Nintendo characters should have top priority in this game... Except Roy, fuck Roy... Not the Koopaling.

if Roy plays like Project M Roy, who is vastly distinct from Marth in play style and not horrible like Melee Roy, then I am perfectly fine with him. I'm welcome to any veteran who isn't Pichu.

The cutting room floor twitter just confirmed the ryu and roy files exists in the 3DS game.

Its not about who the character is within Smash, its about who the character is outside of Smash. And what is Roy outside of Smash?

I'm totally fine with all of these leaked characters if they happen to be true. I would also be totally fine with more third-party characters/current third-parties having more reps. The thing is, I can't think of a Sega character that has been as important to gaming as Mega Man/Ryu that isn't another Sonic character. I'd be totally fine with Tails or Eggman or Knuckles *shrugs*. On Namco's side a lot of people want Klonoa, and he would be cool, but I feel like Taizo Hori or the Pac-Man ghosts (sharing Bowser Jr's costume motife... Clyde, Blinky, Inky, Pinky, Sue, Kinky, Funky, and Spunky make eight) are probably more recognizable. They could also pull from Tekken, Soul Calibur, or Tales as well, I suppose, or reach over to Bandai and pluck out a Digimon.

Either way, I'm okay with this DLC set, and I'm hoping there's more coming. I wouldn't mind forking over another fifty dollars for a Melee-sized content addition.

To be honest, if Nintendo knows what's good for them they'll keep milking MK8 and Sm4sh as much as they can. These games have the potential to last an absurdly long amount of time, they're FINALLY realizing that doing DLC right extends the lifespan considerably.

I've been wanting this since they announced MK8 DLC. Since Nintendo has this habit of making one game per generation for their franchises, DLC is a good way for them to keep their fans sated at lower costs.

This same concept could be applied to Hyrule Warriors/Mario Golf/Mario Tennis/Mario Party if they play their cards right. Essentially any game really.

2 Donkey Kong characters.

I'd have voted for K. Rool and Dixie in the ballot if I was sure they didn't have an IP system that would invalidate or overwrite my previous posts. Ridley if he didn't already play a role.

Metroid isn't an easy series to add more characters to to begin with, the most popular Metroid characters beyond Samus are Ridley, Kraid, Mother brain and Dark Samus, outside one of them they're all huge menacing creatures and the others an Assist trophy already.

Sure theres the prime hunters but they all seem to stand out equally and aren't exactly well known beyond their one and only game, They could do Adam from Other M, but that's a worst choice then no new Metroid characters.

As for DK I get the feeling there will be one new character from it when the ballot is all said and done, Dixie was planned before in Brawl and King K. is a popular pick in Japan and America.

Hey let's talk about Ryu. He's fucking perfect for Smash 4. He's a pretty famous vintage video game character that rivals both Mega Man and Pac-Man. Why didn't we think of this sooner?

Well, because Sony is funding Street Fighter V.

And also why I believe this leak is totes bogus. C'mon, Roy? We've got Lucina, she's basically Roy with less boobs and a vagina. Not to mention that I highly doubt Ryu's in the game because SF5 is PS Exclusive, the game was literally funded Bayonetta 2 style by Sony, why would Nintendo include him???? It doesn't make sense.
