To be perfectly honest Goku is looking more and MORE likely now. Guys word to the wise? ANOTHER DBZ movie is happening next year. Dragonball Super just got confirmed for Western release. It's time. The question more prevalent in my mind since at this point Goku's percentage of being included just shot up: Is which incarnation of Goku they choose. my bet it's young Goku when he beat King Piccolo his final smash is turning into a Oozaru.
Think about it.
I always figured kid goku would be the best choice. Flying in itself is incredibly powerful in Smash, so if it was an iteration of him that could fly, he'd have to be balanced in another way that would take away from the character. Kid Goku plays well to this format actually.
The Power Pole
The Flying Nimbus (not to fly necessarily but as a way to get back on the stage).
His tail could be what he uses to grab onto items and ledges with.
The Kamehameha and reverse kamehameha.
I think it'd be better to have his final smash be Penetrate!.

Its the attack to close out an era.
I kinda picture Goku playing kind of like a mix of Diddy and lucario.

"Rock. Scissors. PAPER!!!!!!"
"This stage belongs to NO ONE!" But if you do Penetrate as FInal Smash what's it's trajectory? Like I imagine it goes upward diagonally but that just means people just don't jump when Goku has final Smash too easy to Dodge Ozzaru is way more punishing just a few Slams on the ground like Donkey Kong and mouth beam and he peaces. I know it sounds lie a lot but if he's the size of giant DK it's not that bad.
Well, a lot of the final smahes are really easy to dodge. Just look at Greninja. Maybe have it with a large energy look to it, since its essentially super dragon fist. Could take a page from Tenkaichi and have a lead up attack to it.
Honestly, I don't want to doubt that Goku won't get into smash. Because I agree that the possibility is there.
But that's the problem that I have is that possibility. Personally I want Super Smash Bros to be kept in the realm of video games rather than seeing it extend into the realm of anime/manga/comics/cartoons/etc and I really hope that Sakurai doesn't change that stance he has going. That being said if it does happen a part of me would just be heavily disappointed while the other being somewhat happy.
Besides, if Goku got in he would be nerfed to hell just because most people recognize him as an adult rather than a kid. That's another thing that would bother me if he did get in. Same with Superman.
It could be argued... but it's a losing argument.
because Dragon Ball originalted from an anime and anime =/= games
it's hard enough for a 3rd party game character to join smash, now imagine a 3rd party 'other media' character. It's highly unlikely.
We could still get Sun Wukong-inspired Mii Brawler gear.
I'm still hoping for an Alex Kidd Mii Brawler costume. Alex Kidd is also inspired by Sun Wukong, by the way.
Conclusion: Your best hope for Goku in Smash Bros. is Alex Kidd in Smash Bros.

Essentially this. And you know, given that Cloud himself has never really been on a nintendo console aside from cameos, he was pretty much the biggest surprise that has come to smash since Solid Snake.
I mean look at it this way, we were already in the same mindset hoping Goku would be in smash bros just because Snake got in until Sakurai said that wasn't going to be the case. What makes it any different here just because Cloud got confirmed? I'm pretty sure that Sakurai already said that he nor his team will count votes in the smash ballot that has anime characters anyway.
We could hope that it would happen in the next game, but even then the chances are highly unlikely.
I don't know guys. Sure, its weird and unlikely but so was Cloud, and you guys are saying that's not enough which I guess it isn't. I'm just thinking there's a possibility. Greninja is kind of random, and Jigglypuff is straight up the one from the anime. I'm not saying its gonna happen, but if there ever were a time that I could believe it, it would be now. Heck, we have Ryu, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Sonic, and Cloud in here now. Namco Bandai has had the rights for DBZ games since 2008, and they're the guys who developed the new Smash game.
see I know yall bickerin and arguing here but I think there's one thing we can all agree on
when Kirby eats Cloud
that Cloud Kirby tho

What like "It could be argued... but it's a losing argument."?
I wanted to know why Ton thinks that. I didn't have much to work off of.
This stuff is all hypothetical stuff which I find incredibly fun, and even if it won't happen, I like to think about what it would be like if it did.
honestly though, this sounds kinda like "man, kim jong un will open up the North Korea. it could totally happen. why do you guys think otherwise???"
Of course that it could happen, after all nothing is impossible. but the chance is already too low. And that's why we're highly against it.
it could happen, but it's hilariously unlikely.
Isn't that what happens with most speculation anyway? Throwing all these ideas you have out that most likely would never make the final cut?
Goku is just as much a video game character as he is an anime character. He fills both roles. There are way too many Dragon Ball/Z games for him to NOT be a video game character. He's not PURELY a video game character, but he IS a video game character. That can't be argued.
What can be argued is how likely it is he can appear in this game, which is minimal to none. But given someone as random as Cloud (he's popular, but it's still entirely random given he barely has anything to do with Nintendo, unlike Goku who's starred in a shitload of Nintendo only DBZ games) got in, it does make it seem more plausible.
