No Break the Targets traditional, it seems.
I'm sure Break the Targets will at least be in the Wii U version. But yeah, Meta Knight's fucking rad as shit, yo.
I still find it amusing that some people legitimately thought he may had been disconfirmed on Monday.
If anything that was pure confirmation.

"Pic of the day. Here's Beat! And Plant Barrier!! These are some of Mega Man's custom special moves. You might also be able to use some signature boss-like moves from the Mega Man series, too."
...Ahem. I really REALLY like this update. It basically makes it clear that Mega Man's custom moves are actually different Robot Master (or in Beat's case support) abilities rather than being "Big Metal Blade" or "Electric Crash Bomber" kind of variations. I do wonder how Plant Barrier is going to work differently. If it is based on the games, if I remember correctly the Plant Barrier stays with you and CAN'T be thrown. Actually, I just reread and confirmed not just that, but apparently it also hurts shielded enemies in Mega Man 6, so... maybe a shield breaking move as well? Who knows.
I'm hoping to see Jewel Satellite or Skull Barrier as his last Down Custom. The jewels would be cool for their reflective ability (being the most practical idea for a third special), but Skull Barrier is just plain badass. If they ever bring Bass as a playable into this game (highly unlikely), Skull Barrier better be included.
I definitely prefer this kind of alternative special than the ones that have been revealed so far for other characters. This is one thing that really bothers me about custom moves; most of them are unique for this game and not really true to the characters they are given to. If I were in their shoes I would have tried harder to represent actual alternative abilities from the games the characters are from. Some examples off the top of my head:
Samus' Charge Beam to:
Wave Beam (Super Metroid) - Doesn't blast enemies away but will go through them and walls.
Ice Beam (Metroid) - Freezes enemies instead of blasting them away, but required less charge time.
Spazer Beam (Metroid II) - Fires three less powerful lasers at once, but each laser acts as a separate beam and collides with objects individually, increasing odds of hitting multiple targets.
Mario Fireball to:
Ice Ball (NSMBW) - Like the fireball but possibly freezes on contact.
Super Ball (Mario Land) - Bounces high and ricochets off platforms and walls.
I have many more examples but I have to run to work now.
Some of the characters do seem to have unexpected effects for their moves, though still more along the lines of original moves than classic ones.
One off the top of my head was in Famitsu for Rosalina. Her down B can become something that draws enemies in with gravity rather than items, but her third makes Luma do a move instead by making him get big or explode or something.
So uh, this is coming out in the EU
If it comes out in the US...I'm...on the fence. I want this but I don't want this (but mainly because I'm on the fence about a 3DSXL in the first place
also not a cartridge of Smash included) >:
Honestly, I think it's pretty ugly. :s

Swear to God, if Link doesn't have Fire or Ice Arrows...

It comes off as kinda tacky to me; I would've preferred a design with a simple Smash emblem (similar to what they're doing with the new GCN controllers). I'm especially not liking how it's only designed to look pretty when closed, yet it'll look silly when it's opened up due to the picture being upside down when the system is being used. In fact, why the
fuck do they keep doing this with "printed" 3DS XLs? The only one that's avoided it so far is the A Link Between Worlds edition. (Let me guess, "collectors' market". Blegh.) I mean, I guess it won't matter too much if you're not seeing it when actually using it, but let's face it, you're not getting a printed 3DS XL unless you're showing off anyway.
@Kosheh: it sucks to not have a physical cart included, but from what I've seen, most (if not all) 3DSXL bundles share that fate. Costs, etc.
I have a regular 3DS. I bought a hard cover with Ocarina of Time artwork on it. It's pimp now.
Metaknight, get Dark Metaknight and Galacta Knight costumes please.
I expect one of Mega Man's custom neutral-B attacks to be Cut Man's weapon.
Oh! Sonic's custom down-B Bounce Attack from Sonic Adventure 2 please! Also Fire Somersault maybe.
Oh yeah, I didn't even think about Sonic's customs. One theory I did see floating around after Beat was announced for Mega Man was that Tails could give Sonic a lift. It would make enough sense to me.
As for more custom moves for Mega Man, my predictions/wish list are these:
Neutral
Shadow Blade or other boomerang style.
Pharaoh Man's. Chargeable and not catchable
Side (too hard to guess, these are just wishes)
Gemini Laser or Search Snake or other unique specialty attack
Fire Man's or other large blast
Up
Teleport or Rush Jet or Tornado Man's air move?
Down
Jewel Sattelite or Skull Barrier

I agree. It looks more like a shitty Photoshop edit or a bootleg than an actual, official product.

I think he should also have Rolling Cutter for an alternate neutral special.
As for his Side, he might get Drill Bomb (stronger but slower and doesn't latch) and Commando Bomb (weaker but aimable, doesn't latch either)
I'm wondering if they are going to reveal the last newcomers before this comes out in Japan or after cause i would do it first, since they would just upload pics of the characters we don't know are in yet.
