I just started Bravely Default. Definitely not liking this Agnes priestess that you meet so far.
"Oh, your entire life up to this point is gone and you want to help me stop whatever caused it so it doesn't happen to anyone else? Go away,"
.
I gotta update my info here since I have the 3DS XL now and there are apparently buffs if I contact other people with Bravely Default.
Psst, hey. I'm in the process of maxing out every class with every one of my characters. Just sayin'. I:
I'm nearing the end of the game now. I'm loving it so much that I have trouble putting it down. Since I've gotten to level 99 with all my characters I've pretty much just turned random battles off and am running from boss to boss, it's exciting since I'm still being challenged.
Destiny toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, just gotta get through lab
Ohhhhhhhh shit, this game.
Just finished Kirby Triple Deluxe. Holy shit that was one epic finale.
"Finished" Tropical Freeze, but I haven't done much with Hard Mode. Frankly don't think I will, as the normal mode has been plenty difficult enough. It was a great adventure though, highly recommended.
Starting
MegaShovel Knight now
Guacamelee's getting tough now, up to the second boss.
I'm also revisiting Hotline Miami, getting achievements. I still love smashing people's heads in.
Been playing a bit more LYNE, it's somewhat difficult but still calming.
Also Solar 2. It's a really fun and interesting game, sometimes it's even nice to just float around and listen to music. It's much easier to make fine movements on the PC than it is on my phone, and as such I've been able to actually do the missions without failing instantly. I've completed all the asteroid and planet story missions, just need to do the star ones and then I'll check out the challenge missions. The achievements also add playability, yesterday I got 15 asteroid moons, and made a 6 star system (both which are surprisingly difficult).
Ho-ly Shit. Bravely Default.
The ending was amazing, and I loved every second of this game. Playing it on Hard mode right from the start was immensely satisfying, and the game continued to throw out challenges even after I reached level 99. Definitely the most wonderful RPG experience I've had in a long time.
Going to a friend's house today to get some Destiny exposure since I'm still on the fence about it.
It is a shitload of fun mang. Story missions follow a similar pattern, traverse map, kill enemies along the way, pull out ghost to do something, defend him from waves of enemies as he does his thing. It can be a minor nitpick, but I don't mind it as I like fighting waves of enemies, and since I never have anyone to play with, things get dicey pretty fast and I have to use my brain on how I'm going to take on a shit ton of enemies. Other than that, other missions are fun, the free exploration patrols are nice, and the multiplayer modes more akin to your more traditional shooter games are fucking great. Bungie never disappoints (except ODST, I don't like that game).
I'm really glad I waited - Destiny is boring. Story mode's kind of like the Borderlands series, but without any of the charm. The Halo-esque PVP doesn't help it in my eyes. Not even the different class abilities freshen it up enough.
I rate it a resounding "meh" out of ten. Better luck next time.
Didn't know crude as fuck humor equaled charming..
The story mode's main missions might follow a similar formula, but in a FPS it's really not that uncommon, and there's plenty of different types of missions if you free roam on patrols or do some missions that require teaming up with other players. I was in this one where wave after wave of enemy swarmed in on a point we were at. It was kind of like Helms Deep, we were sorely outnumbered, backs against the walls, fighting desperately for victory. Hopefully I'll get some friends who finally get an Xbox One and I can do these with friends but for now it's still pretty fun.
And I don't see how having a very quality PvP multiplayer mode WOULDN'T help a game no matter your thoughts on the rest of it. Each mode is highly entertaining and all of the maps are designed extremely well both design wise, and their pathways/layout in general.
Either way, it's a shame you didn't enjoy it.

Charm is more than just the humor(which I found grating at times). There's all the unique weapons and equipment, as well as the different types of missions. Destiny also does a pretty poor job of getting you interested in the game world.

The key here is that it's Halo style. Still better than COD, but I got so sick of it from the Halo 2 era I doubt I'll ever be able to return. I didn't say the PVP is poor quality, anyway.
The most fun I was having was with my friend deciding whether a particular enemy, setpiece, location, etc was lifted from Halo, Gears of War, or Mass Effect.
Never said that you said that you said that the multiplayer PvP was poor quality, just addressing that you felt it didn't help it in your opinion.
Borderlands personally while I love the first one(have never beaten the second, despite liking Tina a whole bunch I really don't give a shit about the story or anything, it feels phoned in and forced most of the time) Borderlands as a series is arguably a lot more samey than this, or at least 2 is. Destiny's story is good enough for me, it's not the strongest I've ever seen, but it's definitely not mediocre as fuck like Skyrim's, nor is it lifeless and dull like Battlefield's most recent campaigns that they just phone in for little reason. It's a well enough story that if you really follow it you piece together what you're fighting and the history of guardians. Like I said though, it's not the best story eva, but I don't think it does a poor job of getting you interested in the game world.
Just my two cents.
It honestly takes a lot for a shooter to hold my attention, and Borderlands 2 was barely able to do it. Without that "charm", Destiny just isn't for me.
If I did get Destiny and play it, I would be using the Bladedancer. It's easily the most interesting class to me with its focus on swordplay and grenades.
I'm playing the SSB for 3DS Special Demo and I'm still playing AC: New Leaf along with assorted side games (whatever I feel like playing on a whim). I'm nearing the 500 hour mark in New Leaf. o.O
