Toadette's back, Waluigi's back, and I get to raise hell with all seven Koopalings. I'm content with that. Bowser Jr. and Diddy would've been great (especially the former, as we'd have one big happy Koopa family reunion), but their absences and a bunch of babies ain't gonna ruin that for me.

Man, now I really want the Koopalings to be Mario spin-off mainstays from now on. Seriously, those guys are the easiest picks for a roster ever. Since the quantity of playable characters increase with each new installment, why not just get seven of them out of the way? They should've been there since Mario Superstar Baseball or something, imo.

I love Dry Bones and it's sad he's not in this game.
However, I also love Dry Bowser and am stoked to play as him in the upcoming DLC. Now I can pretend he went so fast in 200cc, his skin flew off.

Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Baby Rosalina, Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach, Cat Mario, Cat Peach, and all 7 of the Koopalings are much more important than King Boo, Birdo, Diddy, and Bowser (fucking) Jr.

I'm actually really disappointed Queen Bee and Funky Kong couldn't have made an appearance as well...

I remember a few years ago when it seemed like everybody hated Bowser Jr.'s guts lol.

The Koopalings are a FANTASTIC addition, Birdo and King Boo are unfortunate losses but what we've gotten with the DLC and the roster to begin with I'm not too sad about not having them.

I sure love my 7 variations of minibowsers

Yet people just want a different mini bowser instead.

No they didnt. But it was a well rounded roster. It was small and had prioritized the essential cast. Its when you have a huge roster stuffed to the brim with characters but you couldn't fit in Diddy or Birdo. That's when it sucks.

Honestly DK is enough Kong for me. Pretty sure it's called Mario Kart not Kong Kart. DK has always counted as a Mario character but I don't really recall Diddy ever being in a Mario game. I mean, yeah, for you it kinda sucks (like how I use to play as Ice Climbers in Smash) but it's just one of those things.

When you say "Mario game," do you mean an official title or a spinoff? If you mean an official title, then Donkey Kong hasn't been appearing all that much in official Mario games ever since his (well, actually Cranky's) arcade days. Sure, there's the Mario vs. Donkey Kong games (including the first one), but I think of those more as spinoffs than anything else.
