I think I've figured out how many new tracks versus retro tracks we'll be getting in DLC pack 2...
In the source code of the official Mario Kart TV website, I noticed something odd. If you right click on the page, select View Source, and search for "var STRINGS", you find a list of the currently available track names, accompanied by what appear to be their internal values. After sorting these names in ascending order by value, I noticed a pattern:
Courses 16-31 are new to this game (Nitro Courses), 32-47 are from past games (Retro Courses), and values greater than 47 are DLC tracks.
But...
This may have already been obvious to some, but now we have proof. Also, the fact that first original track has the value 16 could mean that two more DLC packs are being planned to make use of values 00-15, or that 16 test tracks were dummied out...

...notice there are some gaps in the numbers. Courses 48, 52, and 54 are missing. Also, none of the Retro DLC tracks from Pack 1 fall between any of the Nitro DLC tracks--they all follow Ice Ice Outpost, the last new track on the list. This means the three gaps are likely the Nitro DLC tracks for Pack 2, and the five remaining tracks are Retro ones, coming after SNES Rainbow Road, and occupying values 59 through 63.

A possibility of two more DLC packs? That'd be the best thing.

Wow, 5 more Retro Tracks! I really hope they add another GBA track this time.

I thought that I was gonna end up getting this later when the DLC selections improved a bit but for some reason the idea of a harder mode than 150cc is a hell of a lot more interesting for the challenge. Hopefully a 200cc Mirror will happen too? who knows at this point.

200cc mirror would be an excellent addition if they came around with more DLC at a later time. However, as far as we know there may already BE a 200cc mode, just unlockable like the first. I figure Nintendo would have announced it, though, as they have a tendency to make the content of their extra content more or less known around release.

What'd be really awesome is if they turn Mirror mode into an option on the track select screen, so you could play Mirror mode on ANY speed! So if you also liked playing on 50cc and 100cc because it makes the races longer, you can play mirror tracks on those modes too.

Heh, here's something to think about: just how over-the-top will the AI's cheating antics be in 200cc?

A problem I have with Mario Kart 8 is that the higher the speed, the more excessively punishing it is to get hit even once because you're put at a complete standstill. In a game with two extremely common scenarios where you're forced to take damage, this might not be any less frustrating at even higher speeds.
Basically in high VR rooms, I expect getting hit 2-3 times will completely seal the deal in whether or not you'll make the top half of the rankings. It also means 1st place may have an easy chance escaping the main crowd even more.

Some folks did some more digging for track names, and it seems like we know what two of the new retro courses are: Baby Park and Neo Bowser City. We're also getting a "woods" track and a... "metro" stage.
It's a rumor, though.
