Time for a tiny bit more "spring cleaning". At this point I might as well call it "summer cleaning".
Ecoco de Fight:
(Split these from a single "General Sprites" submission into multiple, and made the transparent colors consistent. Even after all these years I'm
still not sure how those alpha masks are supposed to work.)
Pocky & Rocky:
Pocky & Rocky 2:
(Completely re-ripped, fixing Pocky's and Rocky's outlines and adding missing palettes and effects. Both Pocky & Rocky have slightly different default palettes depending on the game, so the sheets are set to their game's respective palettes by default.)
Super Marisa Land:
(Split these from a single "General Sprites" submission into multiple, and added missing UI elements to said sheet, which means now everything barring the stages themselves have been ripped.)
And now, for the new stuff.
Touhou Gouyoku Ibun:
So I started ripping these back in April, since naturally I've ripped from practically every other Twilight Frontier game, but this is all I've got done for now because of...
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
...and... wait for it...
*Roundabout starts playing*
Don't you just hate it when they end the episode on a cliffhanger? Anyway...
Pocky & Rocky Reshrined:
To say that I was hyped for both Pocky & Rocky Reshrined and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge would be the understatement of the century.
However, there is a caveat -- I haven't gotten Ame-no-Uzume's altered sprites from the US version yet, so I'll be updating a few of those submissions later. Best laid plans go to waste, as they say.
(EDIT: Added the US version sprites to the following submissions now.)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
And that's all of the enemies and bosses done now! Still got a bunch more things left to rip from this game, then it's back to my "summer cleaning" project.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
Not much left to rip now! Just need the World Maps, breakable objects (I grouped the environmental objects with their respective stages), menus, effects, and a couple of other things (the Cheapskates, Foot Blimp, Punk Frog balloons, and also the turrets for example) and I'll also take care of whatever cutscenes haven't been ripped by TVGE2 once everything else is done.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
And these four were updated with either things I missed (April's camera and Casey's basketball from their air special attacks, and the Foot Soldier's kite by itself) or felt made sense to group together (the cars that the Foot Soldiers drive in a few stages, and the horizontal missiles that only appear in Stage 8 as I can't find anything else to group it with and giving those their own submission seems a bit much).
you are amazing at what you do bro!
So. Wondering where I'd been the past few months? My computer's motherboard and/or processor (it's one of the two) spontaneously died back in early August, so I'd been without one for around three months now. Fun times... Only slightly-sarcastically said there, I did end up catching up on a fair amount of my gaming backlog in the meantime (including
playing perhaps an unhealthy amount of Kingdom Hearts during that downtime), so I guess it wasn't all bad. Either way, I'm back with a replacement rig now thanks to a friend of mine, so it's time for me to get things back into gear, eh? (Man, I swear my originally-planned "Spring Cleaning" is going to be a "next-Spring Cleaning" project by the time all's said and done...)
Pokémon Scarlet / Violet:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
Baba Is You:
(Added Snail.)
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:
(Added the stuff relating to Booster Course Pass Wave 2. Apparently they also updated all of the Wave 1 previews as well, even the ones that didn't seem like they needed updating.)
Nintendo Switch Online:
(These should all be up-to-date now.)
Touhou Gouyoku Ibun (Sunken Fossil World):
(Added new content from v1.14.)
With those mostly-older-submissions-I-haven't-posted-here-yet out of the way (for now, gonna be updating those Mario Kart 8 Deluxe submissions again next month), it's now time to catch up on my other planned rips, stuff that I've literally been meaning to get done for months.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors / The Ninja Warriors Once Again:
Go, ninja! Go, ninja! Go!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:
(Added the stuff relating to Booster Course Pass Wave 3.)
Sonic Mania:
(Re-added the Monarch itself, as it somehow went missing after the initial Encore revision.)
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land / Kirby and the Amazing Mirror / Kirby Squeak Squad:
So we didn't have a proper rip of Bonkers until now. Squeak Squad had a few exclusive sprites and our Amazing Mirror rip from a million years ago was missing sprites.
River City Girls:
River City Girls 1/2:
River City Girls 2:
So this was another spontaneous ripping project. After making a tweak to AssetStudio (to fix a glitch I'd spotted with Cuphead submissions specifically), and since the sprites in the sequel had a funky setup that would take most people quite a while to rip correctly, I figured I'd be the one to take care of these.
A Hat in Time:
(Added Christmas, Community Gameday and Vinyl stickers.)
Nintendo Switch Online:
(Added new Genesis titles.)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
(Added changed / new animations from the most recent update.)
Know what I just said in my previous post about "spontaneous ripping projects"? It happened again! Story time, grab a seat -- back in 2007 I helped Ragey out a bit with ripping from a game called Bomberman Party Edition.
Fifteen years ago... I think I aged that much just thinking about it. But yeah, the playable character sprites were a pain and a half to extract because of there being about 100 sprites per character, 6 colours per character and 15 characters total, all with variable widths in the sprite files (in other words, adjust width, copy sprite, adjust width for next sprite, copy sprite, ad infinitum). So that would be over nine thousand sprites (I can hear the meme in the distance) that would need to be manually ripped overall.
So that never ended up getting done! And I certainly don't blame Ragey or I for giving up on those way back when. The Spriters Resource only had two or three colours out of the six per playable character for the longest time, and after chatting with Garamonde about my future projects about three weeks ago, Bomberman Party Edition came up as a potential choice for the "might-as-well-be-next-Spring-Cleaning project" of mine that I keep bringing up (in short, finally dusting off old projects), and using my newfound knowledge of extracting stuff, I decided to finish what Ragey and I started and I wrote a sprite extraction tool for it just so I could get the rest of the playable characters done once and for bien.
Bomberman Party Edition:
...Call it a hunch, but I think I ended up getting more than just the playable characters finished up.
Hey Random Talking Bush, great job on those! You are really fast in ripping huh? But... I wanted to ask you something. I really like the way your sheets look like (the blue background with light blue squares containing the sprites). But I recently began wondering, do you use some kind of script(Python, Lua or whatever language) to automate the process of making sheets?

Depending on the game in question I've used either Python or QuickBMS to parse the sprites into individual images, then I use a combination of
Daxar's Sprite Sheeter for the initial sprite sheeting (which saves
so much time) and Paint Shop Pro 7 afterwards to clean up alignments and such.

Ah, I see. Thank you very much for the reply! I will make sure to check those tools out! When I'm working on larger sprite sheets, the alignment and copy-pasting process usually takes hours. I am terrible when it comes to sheet organization!Â
From the top...
Mischief Makers:
Through fire, justice is served! Heeeeeere's Lunar!
(His sheet was updated with a few sprites I missed, plus a couple of animations.)
To punish evil forces, I have been charged! It's Tarus time!
A hero with shining armor is called! I am Merco!
THE! Beastector!!
...Sorry, I had to. I love how hammy the dialogue is in that game. Back to normality for the rest.
Paper Mario:
It came to my attention that the sprite sheet from
KnucklesT15 Techokami that existed on the site for donkey's years had a severe issue with the palette duplicating a shade (it was 2003, N64 emulation wasn't that great at the time), so I went ahead and re-ripped the entire thing.
Pizza Tower:
(EDIT: Forgot to add the Peppino, Gustavo and The Noise uploads I did earlier.)
Worms 2:
Worms World Party:
Sat on these Worms submissions for a good while (since 2016 to be exact), didn't get around to uploading these until sections were made by other users on tSR. It do be like that sometimes.
Appending a few more submissions I've gotten done.
Nintendo Switch Online:
GB/GBA are new, the rest were updated (including most of the NES / SNES box art renders being changed in one way or another).
Sonic Origins:
I should really update this more often instead of sitting on uploaded submissions for weeks/months. Not like anyone else stops by this thread often.
Mischief Makers:
Sonic Origins:
And now the updated stuff:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:
(Added the stuff relating to Booster Course Pass Waves 4
and 5. Going back to my initial comment, I'd completely forgotten about posting Wave 4 here when I did so months ago.)
Mischief Makers:
(Marina's sprite sheet was completely re-ripped and now has better animation names and proper sprite offsets, and the Beastector trio have
even more sprites that I discovered after writing a script to decompress the sprite packs used for this game, all seemingly intended for unused boss transition sequences. And here I thought I got everything I could for 'em already.)
Nintendo Switch Online:
(All of these are up-to-date with all games added between then and now.)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge:
New DLC, new rips! Top half's (actually it's more like 1/3) all new, bottom half's (read as: 2/3) all updates. New palettes galore!
