Do any of the console online shops have gift options?

With the Steam Store, you can happily gift your friends this summer's hottest titles that they've been wishing for. Nerd

(no)

(probably because it's massively abusable)

I'm pissed off because I really want to buy it for a friend that has never played the game, but there is no way to gift VC games on the Wii U. Get your f--king act together Nintendo.

why not just give them an eShop gift card and make a cute Mario RPG-themed sleeve for it Cute

I'm not sure. I think I remember the 360 having that function, maybe someone can confirm this. Do the Xbone/PS4 really lack gifting functions? That is a big surprise to me if true.
If it exist I can't find it on my PS4.

On a completely related topic: Man, I wish Jigsaw would stop making PS4 themes. They all suck and they're just filling the store up with crap.
I've seen special cards with dowload codes for specific Wii U VC/digital titles hanging in some videogame stores.

So... Metal Slug Anthology is coming to the PS4 as a PS2 classic. The PAL version was pretty butchered (massive black bars on screen, button lag etc). Might have to buy the American version as no doubt the UK PSN store will get the crappy PAL one.

Also, pretty odd bringing this out after 1, 2 and 3 have had separate (and more accurate) releases.
The Wii version, which I have, is not bad. Except for the waggle control for grenades, and the lack of Classic Controller support.
Honestly, they should just make an updated version with Metal Slug 7 and/or XX added in to complete the set.

Another thing about MS, you'd think they would put the characters in King of Fighters since SNK's games seem to share to same universe.
Every other fighting game appearances have been only in NGBC (Marco and Mars People) and the terrible old 3D KOF games (Fio)
Waggle to throw grenades pretty much made the game unplayable. At least if you planned on playing it for anything more than a quick fun blast.

Yeah it's a shame Marco and Mars People seem to be shunned from King of the Fighters. I'm not really fussed if 7/XX ever reappers though, was pretty much a waste of space.

An actual anthology for the PS4 though was what I was hoping for. I mean the PSN releases of 1, 2 and 3 were (as far as I can tell) perfect ports. 3 had many errors in the anthology port (speed errors where the game would run too fast at certain points, incorrect music playing, missing sound effects etc) so in all honesty having X and 5 (less said about 4 the better) get properly ported to the PS4 would be a lot better.
SNK was never great at ports...Maybe only for their weird handheld system (Neo Geo X) did they have okay ports lol.

but seriously though...Running my copy of Samurai Shodown anthology on my PSP was like running Skyrim on a Win98 PC . _ .

Would you believe some people are STILL using that?  As well as XP?  I mean, I get they were great and all, and 98 is probably the only way you can play old DOS or general Windows games without getting the error that says they aren't compatible, but I'm talking about as their primary PC instead of a gaming time machine.  Why would you intentionally stay that far behind when 7 is better in every way?  Lol.  Following the trend of Windows Releases, every other one is good.  So, 95 is okay, 98 is good, ME/2000 is mediocre, XP is good, Vista is okay, 7 is good, 8 is okay, 10 is supposedly good (I haven't used it yet).
I used a Windows 98 as my sole computer until about 2013/2014. Some of us can't afford to buy a brand new PC every couple of years. Heck, I only have my current computer because a friend took pity on me and bought it as a gift. And even then I am still behind since I'm currently running on Windows 7.
I'm still using Windows 7 too. I wasn't meaning to imply you have to be on the latest version at all times, but rather, more than 2 releases behind is when you start to fall off, lol. Like 7 is two releases behind, so it's on thin ice regarding support and compatibility. If a Windows 11 came out in the next 2 years or something, compatibility issues will be all over the place. But if you get a new computer now (which I need to eventually, this laptop is 6 years old and no longer the beast it once was, 6 GB of RAM, Quadcore Processor), it'll come with Windows 10 anyway.
it honestly wouldn't surprise me that some, if not many people are behind in the computers they use. i live in a part of the US that's pretty old-fashion, so i'm used to seeing old stuff lol

in fact i think i remember seeing a cashier of an antique shop who used an IBM PC on the front desk. it even had the weird ball mouse.
XP was a beast, was an utter joy to use. 7 was too handheldy for me, like there was so many stupid preferences. 8 was, well, it was a bag of crap. Still better than Me (Millennium Edition).

10 seems to be doing just fine.
So i guess no one bothered getting Pokemon Go early?
