Nick Bruty, the main designer of the first game had a AMA on reddit yesterday.

IP issues? Isn't Interplay the current owner of the series? You'd think they would be interested in bringing Earthworm Jim back.
Still, I wish it did get a new sequel, or at least perfect ports of the special editions of the first two on current consoles and computers.
Which I mean the Sega CD/Windows version of one and the PlayStation/Saturn version of two. They put the SNES/Genesis versions to shame.

....How are they remaking all these 3D Zeldas, but not remaking any of the 2D ones. Especially the first two, that haven't aged that well in many regards, and could really use the facelift :C.
