I can draw a hand in various perspectives just fine, but modelling it is completely different. I can't figure out the structure or how to extrude the model properly to get that structure. I might try learning Blender sometime so that I can use a better tool and see if that helps.
I'm no pro-modeler, but I imagine this might be one way to extrude a mid-poly hand.
The highlighted quads being the ones that extrude into fingers
hell if I know how to attach it to the arm though.
to make the hand, you need to do like the visual image Kitsu provided, however it's easier to start with the fingers first. Create the 4 parallel parallelepipeds for fingers and section them into 3 parts to make the phalanx. Do the thumb with one parallelepiped sectioned in three parts, slanted to fit the thumb. Then weld them together when they meet with the palm, and extrude the shape to model it.
I need a link for a lego movie models?
