I am Pixel Perfect. Just so you know. The 8-bit Fairy is the best thing ever. (Not a spoiler, because Majora's Mask pack banner in main menu)
The 8-bit Compass disappoints me. I was hoping the summons would be 8-bit as well, at least Dodongo, Gohma and Manhandla, but I knew that was a stretch. The 8-bit Fairy at least has the 8-bit Bottle covered with 8-bit Link sprites. Link even holds the 8-bit Wooden Sword! It's an 8-bit weapon done right.
This image from the boss pack does not yet have any context, but good lord, my hyyyyyyyype....!!
No idea what it entails and whether it is centralized in only one mode, but FFFFFFFFFFFFF
Also, update notes have been added on this page:

But I don't read Japanese. :<
I Google translated some stuff, just to get a general idea. It's obviously not perfect, but it's something.

So it turns out the longer loading times from the last update are just a bug. It didn't bother me that much, but knowing they are going to be even shorter again is cool.

Does the Great Fairy still have her seductive laughs in 8bit form?
Because as excited as I am to unlock that at some point, there's something weird about her current sound effects in that form. Like, if every grunt she made was an NES sound effect, I think it'd just work better.
No no no I mean I'm not into my Nintendos like that it's just if you're gonna go with the campiness with a giant Minecraft-looking fairy, you might as well give them a retro-inspired sound-effect set to complete the package, you know?
Actually, if all of the weapons made NES-chipset hit-confirm sounds, I think I'd absolutely die out of Koei Tecmo's cleverness
You'll live. They're all nothing more than skins. It'd be awesome if they add 8-bit sound effects to them in an update or something, but unlikely.
I'm also disappointed that Lana in her Skull Kid costume doesn't wear Majora's Mask directly on her face. Also, no unlockable Keaton Mask what? Agitha should've worn that instead of Don Gero's Mask, since the Don Gero's Mask is barely noticable.
Eh, I'd maybe prefer 8-bit skins SPRINKLED with 8-bit sound effects. Since the actual attack effects from classic Zelda is somewhat limited, you'd be constantly repeating loud sound effects that would eventually get grating.
On the topic of having the weapons do things like 8-bitting the monsters in Lana's summoning gate, I'd be all for seeing it, but understand why they might have skipped it. Attack effects are likely harder to edit than the weapon skin, and the only 8-bit weapons that even required animations was the book and the great fairy.
Next game, assuming they do one, I wouldn't mind them expanding on the 8-bit idea and including some finisher sound effects, maybe go so far as to change Link's sword beams to the classic sword-shaped lasers.
Also, they should delve into the Snes and Gba era sprites.
For those who don't know, people have been chipping away at the origin of the Max Rupee Glitch that has been floating around since the game came out. People have figured out a way to get it fairly consistently, and I actually managed to get it multiple times. It's incredibly useful to get enough rupees to remove skills and craft your perfected weapons. I personally don't want to use it to get my characters levels maxed, although I DID use it to get my remaining stragglers to level 100. I don't wanna go higher than that with rupees at the moment.

To be fair, trying to make a game in those days with graphics that match Yoshitaka Amano's artwork perfectly would've been damn near impossible. It'd be an interesting exercise to try and do that now... How amazing would it be if Square dropped the dull halfway-anime/halfway-realistic approach of recent FF games and made something that looked like this:
Maybe a reboots of the FF series that would of gotten this artistic style treatment (but didn't due to the limitations of the hardware) rather than the new series would be nice, or possibly branch off and make a side series. I don't feel like jumping into something this stylish would be a good idea without testing it first.
Surprise 3DS version comes out of nowhere-
"Announced at E3!"
-completely by accident. Also, now with Wind Waker characters.
At first, I didn't want this because getting a 3DS port of this game is too soon (especially since I have the Wii U version); however, I was thrown for a pleasant loop by not only seeing Tetra come out of nowhere, but also the King of Hyrule of all characters! It looks like you're even able to transfer them into the original version of the game, so I'm trying to decide if I should get the game just for that.
By the way, seeing a playable King of Hyrule reminds me of this one post Black Boo made on his Tumblr account where he roleplays as a female humanoid version of Majora. Basically, it's a joke where some screenshots of the King of Hyrule is wishing on the Triforce to be in Hyrule Warriors, so I guess that means he pretty much predicted this happening, which is a bit neat.
"This video is private."
HEH
Can't watch the video at work but MY GOD I'm hyped for those two characters.
Still unsure how much I will be hyped to buy the game again until I know exactly how many new characters and features are coming. The article called it an All Stars version, so I hope they at least include DLC characters and a few more new characters too. Still holding out for Agahnim.
I may be a bit of a worrywart, but I'm a bit concerned for how well it'll run on 3DS hardware.
