I'm waiting for new Sonic Storybook models too...
10-13-2014, 01:47 AM
Sorry for the wait! School's started, and it's a pain. In. The. Booty.
In other news, all the party characters are relatively finished! There are still a few things, like the groups not being named so you have to fish out the faces and stuff without knowing what goes with what. There's also all the hands being rigged to different bones, and other stuff involving the bones... But I've gotten rid of all the bones that do nothing, and the models are all textured. I was going to upload them today, but my computer went to hell. (It's finally okay, but it's two in the morning...)
So anyways, I don't know if I have the time or patience to fix those things. They seem minor if you're serious about having the models. Tomorrow I'll see what I can do.
I wanted to get all the party characters done before uploading anything else, and after some minor adjustments they'll be done, so it won't be too much longer before I start uploading some diverse models from both games!
So that's what's been going on.

Woah! Great job! Are you going to rip the levels too?
Is there a way to rip the cutscene models? They look amazing!

Quick update. The party character models are pissing me off so bad. I got all of them exported to .DAE, that's not an issue. The issue is exporting them to .obj, and renaming the groups within the .DAE. I don't even know if that's possible, but if it is I want to do it. When I export them to .obj, it combines groups of the same name. Surprise, a lot of the groups have the same name.
I just started a new school, and my mouse is broken and I'm doing these on a laptop. I'll try and get around to them. I want to move on. I need to get these over with...
It shouldn't be too much longer!

An update as of right nows, I uploaded the first party mode character, Amy! No, I haven't died. I have all of the characters almost finished and ready to upload, the only thing I have left to do is rename the objects in the scene so they aren't a pain to work with.
See, almost all of the objects have the same name as well as the same material, making them funky to export. So I went through and renamed all of the objects to have different names. This makes the different facial expressions more identifiable too, so. It's just better, to me. I got rid of ALL the extra bones in each model and... I'll stop ranting. But you can find her under the playable characters section. All of the party mode characters will be uploaded soon, and then I will move on to the bosses and enemies. So be excited. C:

Another Update! I've changed the topic title to Sonic Wii game models since I've decided to include my rips from Sonic Unleashed wii. I've added Sonic and the Werehog, so far.
Another edit: I've added Super Sonic! I forgot how fun model ripping is...
Another edit! I've added Chip. Now if I could just find those darned boss models...
Slightly big update: If you downloaded the Sonic model from Sonic and the Black Knight before this post was edited, his SPEC map is incorrect and you should redownload it, please. It had a transparency and I had to take care of that thanks to the all powerful photoshop.
Also, I added King Arthur as well as a spoiler for bosses to the Sonic and the Black Knight spoiler! So go check that out
Edit: I added the Blacksmith to the Black Knight section!
Update: ... I failed so badly, omg. I apologize if any of you downloaded the models and the textures wouldn't display! I accidentally forgot to check them to export to relative paths, so... If the Sonic Unleashed models, the Blacksmith, or the King Arthur models weren't working for you, you can try them again now. If there's anything wrong with them please tell me, it's almost two in the morning so I might have screwed up.

Posting an update as a new post to kinda bump the thread,
Alf Layla wa-Layla has been added to the Bosses section of Sonic and the Secret Rings! ... God, was he a pain to texture. If there's any errors, tell me. I stayed up into the night for two nights working on his sorry booty. (Quick note, for BOSS05_DEC01.PNG, to make it transparent it must be set to RGB intensity and not Alpha. For 3DS Max, anyway.)

Everything is awesome thus far! Looking forward to more.

A comment? I thought this topic was desolate xD Thanks! Speaking of more, I added Excalibur Sonic and Excalibur (The sword) to the Playables section for Sonic and the Black Knight! Also, if you downloaded King Arthur before now, his readme I accidentally put "Sonic ripped for the models resource," so that's revised.
A new model and a revision. Hooray for today.
Update: I added the Sand Scorpion. Some assembly required, they literally put nearly every segment into its own object with its own rigging and everything. Being tidy or working half as hard as they did on Alf Layla wa-Layla is for wimps!
Another update: I added the Ifrit Golem! Spent two hours texturing that mother flupper. Now I've just got to figure out how I'm going to fix those party mode character models, though I think I'm just going to rename the groups by numbers instead of naming the different expressions and arm segments and everything....
But anyway, that concludes the Sonic and the Secret Rings bosses! They're so detailed, omf

Noice! I'm so glad these are being ripped.
Will you be ripping enemies from SatBK in the future?

After I rip the bosses, I'll probably move on to enemies from both games. But since you requested, I'll rip the enemies from SatBK first.
Update: I added Sir Lamorak to the playables list on SatBK! (Why does Lamorak have eye models? Complete with fancy alphas? ... Hmm.)

Small update: So. I'm going to have to re-rip every single one of these. And I've had to cancel all of my submissions. I did something retarded while ripping them that was related to personal preference, but turns out it kinda screws with the models. So I'm either going to get rid of this thread and leave it to someone who doesn't need to do so many revisions, or hope I can make it right and have people actually believe that I know what I'm doing. I mean, I know what I'm doing. What I did to screw up the models was due to how I prefer them, and not how it should have been done.

I'll be looking forward to the fixes! Keep at it, man. These rips (and the original models) are too good to give up on!
