As I've been waiting, I worked on this area. This doesn't count toward the workspace votes as it's a background and not a sprite.
Ironspire Exit
Keep voting, people.
Still waiting on the voting. Did another room from Castle Ironspire to pass the time:
In case of spriter: Critique.
the giant sword in the BG is distorted
I'd put some perspective on the barrels so they aren't literally round shapes
Yeah, I see what you mean. I'll try to change it. Also, what angle on the barrels should I use?
In the mean time, I've never showed these before. This is a mockup of how the Mushroom Kingdom map looks and how the rest of the worlds will look in comparison. I originally scrapped this, but I want to know if this is a good idea in the first place. You be the judges.
Without and with sprites decorating the map.
Here's the corrected scene:
Here's the vote tally so far:
So many cool references in that Mario map!
Here are some things I've also been holding onto for a while now that I've forgotten about.
These guys appear in test tubes in the background in Wily's Castle.
One version of the Liche summon that some enemies can do.
This alert is supposed to show up when you have whittled a Pokemon enemy to exhaustion and have a pokeball on hand. The Pokemon are supposed to act similarly to the soul system in Aria and Dawn of Sorrow. To keep it simple, there are only a handful of Pokemon you can capture and they don't evolve or level up. Hopefully, you guys will understand as I'd like to keep my sanity.
Another version of the Liche summon. Which one do you guys prefer? Or should I remake it again?
These are treasure chests. While they are Golden Sun styled, the other colors represent chests from different games including the color coded chests from Wizards&Warriors.
Platforms for the Mario world.
Mushroom Castle map icon with some animation.
And some more animated map icons.
Okay, I got off my duff and did something new. I guess since the voting didn't reach its climax I kind of felt out of it, SO, here we are:
Carbuncle's finished. A major upgrade from her old sheet which was all oddly jaggy among other things.
I also tried Seiken Densetsu 3's sprite style. I know it's off topic, but I figured I'd show people.
Ah, I forgot about this one:
Another Castlevania enemy; the Skeleton Flail!
This ought to make many forum goers happy: Luigi is being worked on. Sadly, he won't have as many animations as he did in Dream Team, but I'll try to fit as many in as I think will be necessary for the project.
I like it, but maybe the hat and the nose are too wobbly. Toning them down might help.
As always, buddy, you're doing great! Keep showing the whole of this forum what a veteran like yourself is capable of!
Finally finished Luigi. I know it was a long time, but I haven't really made the time for pixels lately. This doesn't mean it's the last I'll do.
Working on a Winterhorn Ridge tileset from Odin Sphere.
