In the meantime, I felt it was necessary to work a little working on the game I mentioned before, and thought I'd try redesigning one of the playable characters' sprites, his name is Cobalt. The following being the initial design in the game:
And then I thought I'd try to remake the sprite completely and attempting to make the design less basic and also not use far too many colors as in the original, although still staying a little accurate to what the design aims to be and keeping the same size:
Unsure which one to go for. Suggestions and opinions welcome~
I think the 3rd one is best.
Aaaaaeeeegh, so many colors... yeah, I suppose it's finished now.
Been my birthday two days ago, so I sprited something for myself, like I usually do once in a year.
I don't know wtf I'm supposed to be, probably a magical fish.
I also don't know what's with me and always getting redesigns
So, I decided to actually work on something.
Experimented what the finished sprites for the back walking would kind of be like. Not sure if I like it.
EDIT: Just had someone to point out to me that Hitmonchan's legs and arms follow different proportions, the legs being thicker and the arms being thinner. After indeed finding out they are both supposed to be around the same kind of thickness, it is clear that I oughta edit this before I proceed on making his other animations.
Arms experiment. Does this happens to be thick enough, compared to the legs?
I feel like all the legs have to be thinner than that. He's a boxer so the focus should be on the upper body but the sprite currently makes me look at the legs. I like the whole 3D thing going on as well. Very good work
A little more like this, then?
I still feel like it has to be thinner than that..
I'm sorry, but I refuse to make his limbs that thin. I'd rather go for this picture for reference, as it feels much more proportional for a fighting game design:
Well, fixed one animation regarding it. Off to fix the other ones in a bit.
There we go, all fixed up, now I can move on to the other anims.
