So, I pretty much worked on a basic GUI and some extra features for the first release, since it was just bare bones of a viewer at the time. It kinda worked for some time, but it had a small problem... the fuckin rigging... But it was very broken on RTB script at the time afaik, plus it had no support for ORAS, this, I guess, was what made ppl still use my software I think. Now, guess what? Yea, he released a script that he not only claims to extract rigged models flawlessly, but also have ORAS support. Ok, it will not take much to me and the contribution I made to be forgotten.
This made me start to rewrite the software. Without hacks. RTB script is pretty shite, first, if is a BCH script, it should open all BCHs without flaws, but well, he have separated scripts with different hacks to make them work with each game... I even tried to contact him, asking for help and trying to help him with whatever I could. But he never awsered my PMs, he just ignores, dunno why. He only awsered one and barely awsered what I said.
Sorry about that. I had so many things that I'd been working on lately that I didn't get a chance to do anything related to this topic. And don't feel as if I'm ignoring you -- I read the PMs, but I don't exactly know how I'd go about explaining what needs to be done to apply rigging for your own importer considering that yes, my script is incredibly sloppy overall and looking back it's overly complicated and hackish. And I never intended it to be a contest of sorts to see who gets things done first, I'd rather you get your own importer polished up instead.
...If you'd still like my help, I'll see what I can do to aid you (so that people don't have to use my scripts for the models).
All right guys... I'm glad that this is solved. Honestly I was busy since my computer got broken days ago. The only thing I'm afraid is the HD. if all the data are lost forever, then I consider myself screwed up...
Weirdly my computer got screwed up 3-4 times this year... It's a complete piece of junk and garbage.
Anyway... If by any chance I get my computer back to its fullest capabilities, I will try to rip something... Specially becuz we hadn't fully ripped all the 3ds roms yet. And I think I will try with some of them... But even if I try it... I cannot guarantee any success, specially because I might find new format files that may be complicated, like happened to KHDDD formats. Or the different versions of BCH from XY, and ORAS. Besides... You are the only ones who knows how to do the scripting and how to decrypt game specific formats. The only hex editing I done was to edit a Suikoden 2 save game to unlock all characters... And even so, I didn't unlocked all of them (a few of the 108 stars, Boris and McDohl are the ones I didn't unlock that way)... And some years later I did it again for the same purpose but as well, maxing out the characters stats. If that's the furthest I can go on hex editing. How can I even try to comprehend format compressions and how to decrypt/convert them?
Is there a tutorial that only needs some hours to understand and it's easy to understand even for nOObs like me?
... At least I am a quick learner, and I need to do something for myself, to let RTB, TGE and others focus on the main ripping projects.
On the other hand... The reasons I going to do this are for not just only to get recognition.
1- I want models for certain creatures, character, npcs... Even if I have to do it myself. And for now, we are indeed getting plenty of them.
2- I want to clean the name of Farlavor that got unfairly tarnished from my past YouTube experience. Honestly, if it has to happen again or my infamy reaches here and you simply rejects or even ban me... I will commit suicide... Becuz I am really, really depressed from that experience, even if it has happened 2 years ago.
3- I want to do this to compensate from the day TGE tried with no success at ripping and converting the Sadaharu model I gave. Specially considering that if we succeeded at that, Sadaharu wouldn't be the only ripped model, but also all Gintama models as well... Also that got me discouraged, becuz it was from a Wii ISO. I would just not be pissed off if it would be from J Star Victory VS, becuz the models were impossible to rip from that game. But from a Wii ISO?... That made me felt I'm even lower than a nOOb... I felt like I was a total wuss, a failure, a good for nothing.
Even so I was enraged... And it wasn't his fault... He was a volunteer. And at least he tried to help me with his knowledge... Even he asked for help in Zenhax, So as a way to ask him for forgiveness, I decided to do the ripping stuff for myself.
If I ever have a chance to convert that model as well, I would be happier. But I know I can't for now.
