Bulbasaur is easiest for the first two gyms, and the third gym is ineffective against him, so it'll essentially keep you from pulling out your hair. Charmander is the opposite effect, being weak against the first two gyms.

Edit: Oh well, at least he'll be effective against Brock and all the Geodudes in Mt Moon.

When I was a kid I thought that bulbasaur's right eye (that is on our left) was actually his nostrils and that only one eye was visible.

After being humiliated by who used to be my BFF, I have been stripped of all goods I had. My mom was sad to know that her son had failed his Pokemon trainer carreer right at start, and ashamed about that, she told me to never show up in front of her unless I've turned into a successful Pokemon trainer.

Without any markets in town and with all my food stolen by Muts, I had to go hunting. Despite losing at Muts's ripped Bulbasaur, Shell could at least fix a meal for us two.
