(dunno where this would fit here, but I think this is the best place to put it)
Hey everybody! I'm working on some world building for my cartoon series, G33X, and think that it'd be fun to get a little bit of help with it. You see, I'm working on creating a pretty ambitious web-show/video game series and would like to incorporate as much original content as possible within the show's universe.
What does this mean? Well, it means that I need some help populating the world with a collection of games and I'd like to allow folks within the community to help me achieve that by submitting their own games to be part of the world. Right now, I only have NES carts prepped and ready for submissions, but I'm also working on other models to fill the shelves of Game stores and other locations for people to leave their mark on.
I have some guidelines for what kind of stuff I'm looking for:
-has to be original content (characters that you own the rights to, no copyrighted characters like Mickey or Mario, etc.)
-Has No pornographic, hateful, or graphically violent content.
-Has acceptable language, let's keep it clean (witty subversions would be amusing though, so this is basically "no blatant swears")
Other than that, I totally encourage having fun with it, it'd be so cool to be able to feature other peoples' work in the show, even if it's in a small part of the backgrounds. I'm also open to having people submit posters and other art that could be hanging on walls or included in other shout-outs.
Here's an example of how it'll turn out, at least on an individual cartridge:
LEGAL-ISH STUFF:
By Submitting a texture image, you agree to allow the cartoon, and other media associated with the "G33X" identity, to freely (without monetary payment or other compensation) use the intellectual property included within the image. This, however, does NOT mean that G33X owns the submitted intellectual property, only that permission has been granted to the G33X group to use the image within its associated media (animation, games, etc.) as a cameo or "shout-out"
Basically, By submitting an image, you agree that it can be used for free in the cartoon or within a game or other media, but that it's still your intellectual property.
The right to deny submissions is reserved by the director (known as 'Sketchasaurus'on www.vg-resource.com) If a submission is rejected, G33X does not have permission to use the rejected image.
In addition, all participants shall be credited for their contributions appropriately in the credit roll, with the name provided on the credits section of the submission image.
