I was just wondering if we could soon see the sheet of Antasma's overworld sprites from Mario and Luigi: Dream Team? I'm not too concerned about the battle sprites since they're pretty...samey when it comes to him, but his overworld appearance intrigues me and I'm antsy about the entire thing being finally ripped properly. I mean I know I've been harping on most of you guys for a while about various things, and honestly if I had the capabilities to do what you do, on my own, I would jump at the chance to move things along and take the pressure off you all if only slightly.
Does Antasma have overworlds that are not in the bat form?
Scanning through the main overworld files I can only find this:

The rest appear to just be the bat.
Or maybe this one?

It needs to ripped with my most recent script to be sure, but no regular movement stuff as far as I can tell.
Oh...that's...odd? I thought for sure he had overworld sprites in his typical form at some point...strange. I should play through it again, been a while...either way though I appreciate the effort, I really do. People like you are what make this community so great!
On another note...has there been any more work on the 'Giant Battle' models? I'd really, really love to have the basic Giant Luigi model...I've been trying with every known extractor for 3DS myself on the files supplied to me but with no results, not even proper textures.
If you need a sample of the particular model I need converted to preferably obj or dae, I have it...right here.

You can rip bcres/cgfx models with:
cgfx2obj
cgfxviewer
Every File Explorer
CGFXviewer is the only one that can properly handle these types, apparently, and it doesn't have an export function from what I see. CGFX2OBJ just spits out errors within half a second...Every File Explorer doesn't view them at all, but exports some pieces of them. I'm having a hard time with these it seems...
EFE works for me (Windows 8.1 64bit).
Make sure to unblock the zip before unpacking for EFE.
You could use a 3D capture program to capture the model from CGFXviewer.
I've tried both methods and neither seem to work...am I missing something? Have you been able to convert the model with EFE properly? It doesn't work for me even with unblocking before unpacking. Luigi always comes out all mangled and disassembled as opposed to the CGFXviewer. I can't understand what's wrong. Also the cpature programs I've got don't seem to work with CGFXviewer due to the fact it's only drag and drop to open the files. It just comes up blank otherwise.
I made some progress with the WayForward anim files finally
Sometimes, without indication, the texture needs to be rotated before being read. Sometimes even inside of the same frame
I took 2 files side by side each has a 128x128 texture sheet but one that needs to be rotated and one that doesn't and there is no difference whatsoever in the header, so the rotating needs to be done manually. But hey, the fact that I'm finally getting somewhere with it makes me happy.
What's that pixel cluster at his foot in the second frame? Just leftovers from the "tiles"?
Odd, there isn't something there on the texture itself. Must be a bug somewhere when building the image.
So I may have found a rotation indicator! It seems to be working correctly, but probably needs more testing.
The way the coordinates are calculated is very very strange. I got lucky with guessing how it's done lol
Now there's one more type of indicator that I know I need to look for. It's for when sprites have separate textures for the same frame, which is weird.
Also, right now the script only works with the adventure time anims. I assume the others will be slightly different, but it will probably be just a matter of moving pointers around.
Edit:
So close yet so far away.
Edit:
All anim files now work, but I found another thing I have to figure out. The file that just keeps on giving.
Edit:
Found the texture info by chance. It's... in the frame data? That means less manual work I guess, but that texture change thing is no where to be found.
It looks to affect the textures that don't have alpha channels, so maybe there's some kind of indication there.
Also, the animation data in Shantae's files is crazy weird. I'll just make it so it dumps all the frames. Makes organizing a bit tedious, though.
I can't make heads or tails of EFE at all (seriously who uses Visual Studio and expects simpletons like myself to figure it out) so I'm SOL as far as getting 3DS rips myself. I'm trying to get the rest of the Pokemon PSS/Multi Battle mugs and all I've gotten are the ones you find on the PGL rankings and some from Serebii.net. I'd really like to get the rest of them though, because I know they're in the code and people have found them.
That is glorious, holy shit... Where does that appear in the game?
It's labeled "desktop" so I think it's on the file select screen, but I can't find a picture to check.
Here is the full texture
The other page just repeats that same paragraph :p
Ploaj, do you have any plans to release the ripping tool anytime soon?
Also, have you had any luck viewing, extracting, or replacing the .cgfx models in the Mario & Luigi Dream Team .dat files (such as FMap.dat, BMap.dat, MMdl.dat, etc.)?
Has anyone had any luck viewing, extracting, or replacing the audio in the game's SoundData.arc file, or at least found a working way to open it?
