Alph should have been a new character implementing whatever changes they made to Olimar, and Olimar should have returned performing in largely the same way as before.
I really hated Olimar the way he was, his pikmin shielded him from everything....
Excite Bike, Mike Jones, Muddy Mole, Sablé Prince
Unfortunately Nintendo seems to like to put more recent Nintendo characters in smash. In the 4th we only got Five newcomers from the 80's
Megaman,Pac-Man,Little Mac, Paultena and Duck Hunt the rest of the newcomers were from the later 2000's
bandana dee is the only character i would like in smash bros. hell, they can even mix in his "moveset" from krtd
@recme
I COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE MAN.
I was kinda surprised they didn't put him in SSB4.
God Bandana Dee is awesome.

I keep seeing comments like this on all the Nintendo-heavy websites...
five out of fourteen (counting each Mii Fighter as a new character)... that's 1/3 of the roster. Really, how many more retro characters do you want? That's not even considering the fact that a great majority of the roster originated in the 80s themselves... Not to mention Villager is almost fifteen years old as a character, Wii Fit Trainer and Rosalina are both seven years old... These characters aren't really that new at all. Greninja, Robin, Lucina, Shulk, those are the 2010 characters. The Miis could easily be put in 2006 when the Wii launched.
Of the four decades that Nintendo's video game enterprises has unfolded (I am aware that their arcade routes reach into the later seventies), the only one which was not "fairly" represented by Sm4sh's newcomers is the 90s. The 2000s have the most newcomers with six, the 1980s in second with five, and the 2010s in last with four, one of which was intended as an alternate costume.
Besides, why are modern characters something not to celebrate?
Mike Jones from Startropics, because those games were great and should be given more attention.
Any of the Dragon Quest main heroes, because that's still one of the best selling RPG series of all time, and it's mostly only available on Nintendo consoles.
Maxim from Lufia II.
Chrono from Chrono Trigger.
Terra or Locke from Final Fantasy 6.
Prince of Sable or Prince Richard from For the Frog the Bell Tolls.
The main character from Crystalis.
Only one person's mentioned Waluigi so far? Dang, he needs more than that. Waluigi is definitely a character I'd like to see in Smash Bros as a playable character. Cranky Kong is another one I'd love to see as well.
There's probably a lot more I could ask for but those seem at least moderately likely.
I want to see Shovel Knight in there.
I would like to see Lip from the Panel de Pon / Puzzle League series as a fighter.
Oh, that and Ridley and Mewtwo, provided that the Wii U connectivity rumor is false.
Waluigi'd be neat, as kind of a representation of all the spinoff Mario games. Like, have movesets based on Mario Party, Mario Kart, the sports games, etc.

full name : nintendogs laberador
game : nintendogs
powers : bark, chase a ball, put on glases to jump , digging explodeing bone, can wear cute cloths sometimes, one of my faverite games for the nintendos ds
why he/she should be in ssb : i think this would be the bestest edition to smash brother because i do not think that a character like duck hunt doge did enough justise for the character. duck hunt dog acts so silly and he is als o not acts like a real dog if nintendo had a brain on there shoulders they would realizes that a nintendogs stage is not enoug to please the ever growing fanbase of ssb and nintendogs. they need a character who is actually from a game that is not from 30 yeras ago and also smth that boys and grils can identify with an i think nintendogs lab is a perfect char for this purpoce.
I would be behind this if we're talking a nintendog dalmatian.
Wishful thinking really makes me want all the characters from both melee and brawl back to be honest.... Except Young Link since he's pretty much been replaced by Toon Link.
But if we had characters like Dixie Kong in, I would honestly prefer a Dixie/Cranky tag team character than just some solo character. It would open up so many options to how their moveset could really be.
Other characters I'd like to see one day:
Simon Belmont
Dillon
Pushmo (assist or playable ether way, I just want to see these fuckers in a game)
Samurai Goroh as a fucking playable character already jesus christ, give black bull the assist slot.
Dark Samus as playable just to troll on those who want ridley as a villain rep so badly (Come on, I'd love to see sakurai do this to loyal metroid fans)
Any Square Enix character that isn't Geno (I'd rather see Geno as an assist trophy TBH)
Sukapon
Takumaru
Captain Rainbow
You know, with all this talk about Geno in Smash Bros, I'd rather have Mallow in the game instead. Not only does he have a more developed character, but also his elemental magic attacks could be good for something.
Speaking of Young Link, though, I realize that there's no chance for him to ever return, but why not make him an alternate skin for Toon Link?

well mallow might work his character design fits into smash better then genos anyway.
personally id like to see the young link make a come back but with him and toon link not being just weak clones of regulair link i always hated that sure toon link and young link are faster but they are still just weak copys. id like to see them with different moves based off of the games they stared in. young link could use a move set from majoras mask with the transformation masks and different other weapons like the bomb chu to replace bombs great fairy sword for his smash move and he could be able to slow down time temporarilly with his orcarina.
toon link could use his skull hammer as his SMASH move (pun intended) and it could do a shockwave thing, deku leaf could knock people away with wind and hyoi pear could hit the oppanant with a remote control seagull also he could use the wind waker to create a cyclone to throw every one else high into the air. and he could have a tornado spin instead of the regulair spin attack.
also maybe rework gannondorf so he has his own moves instead of just stealing capton falcons like the moves from n64 those were hard as balls to beet first time threw. perhaps a nice gannon transformation to the one in brawl wasent satisfying at all.
and toon gannon with his twin sword thing and a puppet gannon transfromation with each of its different forms as seperate attacks.
ps am i the only one a little disappointed that the temple of time dident get to be one of the returning stages in brawl.
You know who's been well represented in an already established series that's gotten a lot of smash coverage? Tiki from Fire Emblem. Aw yiss, manakeete plz.
