Sonic Unleashed/Generations' is completely different. Regardless, there is a MaxScript included with SonicGLvl that should allow you to import them.

I haven't got 3ds Max(not for mac). I use blender and fragMOTION. I am kinda a newbie at ripping models.

You can also use SonicGLVL to convert the model files to DAE

When I try to run Sonic GLVL using PlayOnMac it writes this in debug.

I don't have a Mac so I can't help you there.
