I don't know about you guys but I want rocky road ice cream.
I really do wish SEGA would make a game that played solely like the classic stages in Generations.
That sounds good, but I hope that even if the game is a success, they wouldn't milk it for sequels. We already had enough with Nintendo doing the same thing with the New Super Mario games.

The difference with the Mario franchise is that the games are still solid, and enjoyable.
Also DAT 3D WORLD UNGH.

You can call out Mario for being stagnant, but at least Nintendo knows how their own damn franchise works. They actually know what they're doing.
I think there's only one thing that disappoints me that this game is so bad: I actually like Lyric's design.

Forget the game is atrocious; forget Lyric is a stupid ass name; forget that there's bullshit time travel connections with the villain like in Sonic 06.

From a design standpoint, I REALLY like Lyric. He's huge, he has a semi-mechanical design, I like that they went with a full snake body, but still include the arms. Most of all, he's NOT a Sonic body stretched, skewed and recolored to be a different animal. He's a predatory animal, too, all in all a good contrast for Sonic and company.

Too bad he's in this game, and too bad his name is Lyric.

I don't mind the name Lyric tbh
Doesn't sound like a name that fits the design OR a villain in general though

What kills me is that SEGA does know what they're doing, Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations show they know how to make a good sonic game.

They'd rather just churn out unfinished garbage and make money though. Smile
sonic team didnt make this game though. at least, thats what i think.

also, isnt sonic boom a spin-off game? i thought since it didnt release in japan, it wasnt really canon.
It be easier to blame Big Red Button since they developed the game. This is gonna be like what happened with Aliens: Colonial Marines.
The show is okay, but i wish it had more action and be around twenty minutes instead of going the AOSTH route and two shorts format.
Still hate the designs though.

As for Lyric. He's too out of style with everyone else, and really feels more like a Sony platform game villain than a Sonic one due to who made the game.
BRB claims the serpent from the Garden of Eden inspired him. I really see it more towards the fact hedgehogs can kill snakes in real life.
I like his voice though, sounds like a Transformer villain. It also helps that he doesn't hiss in his dialog like most snake characters do.

I'm not getting either game. Just seeing the footage is making me point and laugh at it. That and I'm already planning on getting Little Big Planet 3 and Super Smash Bros (Wii U version) Sucks that Australia has to wait till January for Captain Toad while other countries get it in time for Christmas.
At least Sonic Team is working on the next main game planned for next year, hopefully to heal the wound from this embarrassment.

The other gun-wound in the foot is that Big Red Button was founded by and consisted of members from Naughty Dog. Considering their parent's company's history of high-quality titles (i.e. the Crash Bandicoot games, the Jak & Daxter series), I was honestly expecting better.
I cannot wait until Zero Punctuation reviews this.

If Yahtzee's always eager to flog perfectly good games and display rampant hate for Nintendo and the Wii U, I wonder what he'll have to say about this...
At least the 3DS version seems alright...

I hear the 3DS game is pretty bad too. It may look decent from the trailers, but from what I've heard from those who have played it, it's terrible.

It's sad that both games suck so much, since BigRedButton, like E-Man said, is composed of experienced platformer developers, while Sanzaru were the guys who made the great Sly 4. From developers like these, you would've expected so much better.
