Is the dither meant to show light or depth?
I was trying to give a texture to the cube while tring to convey light as well.
I see, I thought you were trying to only convey light.

On the random guy, you have a few colors that are still too similar. They are the two brightest yellows, and the two brightest blues (the glare isn't noticeable, neither is the shadow on the right hand).

Also, you should pay attention to what parts of the body are shadowed by other parts. If you have a light source directly above, and the character is leaning forward, then his entire front chest and part of his legs should be shadowed.

Fixed the wonky dithering.
The dithering on the ball just needs to be rounded a bit. It looks kinda octagonal the way it is.
I'll fix the ball. Here is something I made some time ago based of the pacman ghosts.

Theyre meant to be helpers for TFR. Using custom pallette. I'll get to fixing the ball.
Pretty nice! These designs look like sonething straight out of Eversion. You'll want to watch out for that external AA though...It won't look good on black backgrounds.

I think your sprite work is kind of cute in a sense. And like the guy said above, reminds me of Eversion! Nice work!

I think the hair, light shirt, and skin outline could be at least a little darker.
Fixed the outlines you mentioned and added some poses.

Looks great so far, but you should try rounding out the places that look a little too square-ish, and make the shading look less flat.

Here's an edit to show what I mean. I think you should also darken the hair a bit.
