So yeah, I managed to get a Rosalina amiibo for about $37 straight from japan, no shipping costs either which is a huge plus.
I was actually amazed I could get one for that much given that people would be charging them for much more on amazon or ebay. Personally given that I was importing it this was probably the most fair price I could get this one at.
EDIT: In point, if you want decent pricing for rare amiibos try to find imports in the $30-$40 dollar range with no shipping costs, I mean yeah it's not $12.99 but hey at least it's not like you're paying $60.00 for one when I could get a new game instead.
Right now I just want to wait for the Duck Hunt Amiibo to come out, meantime I might pick up a couple of other ones if I really feel like building up my collection. I just hope I can find a Fox Amiibo because that would be awesome to get just for the sake of having Fox.
Literally standing around in Gamestop until 5pm and then throwing infinity monies at the clerks until I get the amiibos
As far as Amiibos go, I'm personally tempted to gain the Yarn Yoshis. I honestly thought that all Amiibos are going to be plastic toys (and maybe cards), but when I saw those soft, little guys, I squealed with joy!
It is my life mission to get the pink yarn yoshi

All right
I managed to get to my Gamestop around 4:15 today. Like an hour and a half later than when the preorders opened.
Soooooooo it turns out their system crashed. Twice. Because of amiibo.
On my way into the store, I saw one of my old coworkers. I can't hold an actual conversation partly because I'm livid and partly because the store smells like horrendous body odor. It doesn't help that like literally this couple that literally has nothing better to do than to camp this specific store for amiibo is here and holding up the line for a good half hour.
My friend was extremely bummed when she realized that Lucina and Robin were sold out at Gamestop, so instead I managed to harass my friend into buying a Ness amiibo (half joking the entire time) because "I really like Ness, and if you get one and I don't I'll be so jealous of you."
She then blurted it out to the rest of the line when she realized that she could use it to trade other people for the amiibo she wants, and then ordered it.
...smooth move, and thank you for contributing to the problem
Walked out with a web-in-store preorder for Ness, Pac-Man, Charizard, and the Splatoon 3-pack. Feelin' pretty alright. Could use a Fire Emblem or two but w/e, it'll come eventually
I want all the yoshis.... I NEED ALL THE YOSHIS >:{
I want so many things I don't even know where to start
and yet I can't have any

to be honest and I'm sorry to make such quick assumptions but like
i've heard in South American countries like Ecuador and Chile that it's actually pretty easy to obtain amiibo, due to the higher costs and lower demand for Nintendo products.
Assuming again that you're actually looking for a Lucina amiibo, it might take a little effort and thinking outside the box (or shipping from Ecuador etc.) but I think overall you'd probably have an easier time than we're having in the US or UK. :/
Though if you're looking for a good, crazy-awesome Lucina figurine, I'd probably go with the
figma being made by Good Smile over the amiibo...but it'll be way over the cost of an amiibo (I paid $75 for the figma through Crunchyroll, because I'm a moron and forgot to shop around)
Obsessive website watching and I still didn't stand a chance. Jigglypuff was gone in two minutes. TWO!
I didn't even know the amiibo preorders started yesterday, or the fact that they would be sold old in four hours. Showed up to the GameStop at 5
0, everything was gone
One the bright side, I randomly checked the amiibo subreddit at 3:00 am and it turned out Toys R Us had just restocked on them. Only PacMan was left, but he was one of the two I wanted anyways. Ness is only $40 on eBay the last time I checked, but I can't talk myself into buying that
Waited in line at 10:14 Am i was the second person at EB games store opend at 11 got Ness, Robin, Lucina, Pac-Man and Charizard
i'll get the Splatoon one's later
I gotta get me a Ware-io Amiibo. I kind of wish he had his plumber outfit, but the biker suit is still pretty cool.
Also, I don't know whether or not to teach it how to properly fight, or to teach it to spam the bike and the waft.

It'll happen. Plumber outfit is pretty much confirmed due to Mario Party [so is DK and Rosalina - and the latter probably won't be store exclusive if you're in the States] They're in the game; they just...don't alternatively exist yet.
It's more or less a waiting game at this point for when they announce the expansion of the Super Mario line.
