Yo RTB.. i think there's a model broken in the latest DLC!! for the Mario Maker Stage.. its the 8 "hand" models.. the mesh seems broken, and the uv's r shot also

You're better off asking for that on Steam Workshop, or even Facepunch. We don't specialize in propitiatory file types, and most people won't help you or be able to help you. Don't ask me either, I can't port to Source.

MDL files?... Honestly, I am not so fond to that kind of format.

I know that the models can be used for any kind of purpose than just making animations on 3DS Max and C4D, but concerning the models you want to add to games like Gmod or other mod supportable games, it might make the game itself interesting, but if I were to choose between this and using the models for virtual reality and animations, I'd rather choose the 2nd option.

I already saw an Arcanine mod for Torchlight 2, Not a bad idea to add a Pokemon into that game, but being limited to use just a pokemon as a pet is pretty restrictive. 

If you plan to do game modding, this isn't the forum for you. here we discuss about ripping Sprites, Sounds, Models and textures, so modding games is not the main focus of this community.

I'm sorry for that. 

Anyway, Facepunch has already been using ripped models from this community, Even on Deviantart you may see MMD newcomers (Models ripped, Rigged and converted for Miku Miku Dance), just tell them about your plans on convertirng the models of Roy and Lucina. anyway, I think that even if they don't, you may still have other options, like Xentax or Steam Workshop. I hope this helps you.

On the topic of smash bros, any one been able to decipher Melee's model format?

Afaik there's a member named Tcll that knows how to convert the models.
