Hm. Well Sonic Team may have little hope, but Sonic himself will be fine. SEGA will eventually rent out the hedgehog to other developers, and THAT'S when we'll get some good Sonic games.

Sega's been doing that for years with mixed results (Aspect, Travellers Tales, Now Production [Sonic Riders] and more recently BioWare were all involved with a Sonic title or two). If you mean a platformer one then Dimps have more or less done all the 2D Sonics from Sonic Pocket Adventure onwards bar Sonic Genesis of course.
Speaking of which, I really enjoyed Sonic Triple Trouble that only a few that I am aware of that liked the game along with Sonic 2 Master System and the closest to the big 4 (Sonic 1, 2, CD, 3&K) on the Game Gear.
What about Sonic Rush. That was developed by someone else, I thought it was pretty good.
i see nothing wrong with either sonic adventures (GC format or not) the lamest ones were the seldom heard sonic shuffle the lame mario party rippoff and sonic heroes (if the plot wasnt cheesy and u could play as ONE character id like it til then..) thts just my opinion
