Yeah, that's a perfectly acceptable icon - better than most, for sure!

Just a bump because I've seen a lot of people rumbling about this again.

Better yet, this should be stickied much as the Music Resource thread is.
Stuckedy doo'd.

So, I was bound and determined to find a way to make my own icons, and found this: http://www.online-image-editor.com/
It's crude, but has easy access transparency; so that'll get your icons looking proper.
What I do is prepare them in MS Paint, then use the transparency option in the online program to erase the background. Simple enough.

ah, yes, the online image editor
i forgot what i was doing to find it, originally, but i do find it fun to mess with! XD
i personally use paint dot net for transparent images, though...
online image editor is more of a toy/special effects app, if you ask me...lol

Hi there, I am new with this submission stuff and got some questions about it.
How much time does it ussualy take to approve/reject submissions? Is it done in a certain order, like populair franchises first, big sheets last etc? Where is the borderline between a good custom/edited sprite sheet and a bad custom/edited sprite sheet to the spriters-resource?

Did you consider actually reading through the thread you posted this question in?

Your answer is unnecessarily rude, that doesn't fit an administrator.

My answer is the one that will get you to your answer the quickest. If stating the obvious is offensive to you, perhaps it would be best to avoid asking questions before taking a few seconds to review the information in front of you (especially in this case since you were literally already in the right thread).

i don't wanna sound like the bad guy, but why we don't make the icon for the sheet obbligatory for the submission?
or rejecting the ones that have a bad one?

If you're asking if sheets get rejected for having bad icons, the answer is no. But having an icon that needs to be fixed will definitely slow the process.

As for why it's optional, not everyone has access to or is comfortable working with software that handles transparency. We accept submissions without icons to make sure those who want to submit but are unable to create icons can still do so. That said, submissions with well made icons will almost always be approved before ones where we need to make the icon ourselves.

Couldn't really decide a place to post this so here will do for now. Say I am the creator of a game. Is it acceptable for me to post sprite sheets from said game on the site if they are published on consoles or an accepted device? I wouldn't be ripping the sprites per say, given I have all the files personally, more-so compiling them into a sheet. But just curious how this site would handle that. Is it allowed?

Yes! We do accept sprites from game developers. There have been a couple cases in the past where sprites were submitted by the game devs. As long as the game has nice looking sprites I see no reason to not have them on the site. What's the name of your game? I would like to see some of the graphics myself so I can better judge if the sprites are acceptable.
