While I'm not anything of a huge fan of Koopaul's cuts (Rosalina? Bowser Jr.? Greninja? SHULK and DUCK HUNT? for NOBODIES like Barbara and Toad?!?) I do agree with Chibi Robo being included. Ever since seeing the new trailer for that cute Chibi Robo platformer, I sort of hoped that the little guy would get big and probably get added in the next game.
but I'm also hoping for Ben Chang from Community, Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad, Karkat Vantas from Homestuck, and Krackle from the Kellogg's Expanded Universe to show up in the next game too so what do I know.
Honestly, a Ganondorf with dual braodswords, like what we got in Hyrule Warriors, would be such a different character from any other swordfighter we've had so far.
Honestly those are things I just jotted down. They certainly aren't well thought out. Also I didn't include slight tweaks in hotspots or power. I only mentioned major changes.
As for PK Thunder, I wanted to make it more easy to use for newcomers.
Same with Little Mac. I want to make the characters more approachable.
As for cuts... Well I wanted to set a character cap for each franchise. That cap is five. So Mario we could only five characters. I had to decide who the fifth character would be, Rosalina or Bowser Jr? I decided Toad deserved that spot more than either of them. He's one of the most iconic Mario characters ever!
I could bring back Duck Hunt though.
Anyway I'm open to suggestion but I want to make one thing clear. I want to limit the amount of Pokemon and Mario characters.
Maybe the lock-on PK attacks could be custom moves to allow beginners a way to better learn the characters that isn't so punishing? Ness and Lucas aren't particularly approachable, which is why I think a lot of less-intense players overlook them. I like the way they work now, but I can understand why others are turned off so... I think an immediately available custom move is a good compromise?
Maybe something similar for Little Mac. A piece of equipment that enhances his aerial abilities.
Also, character suggestions (characters that were relevant between Brawl and SSB4). Note that these are just suggestions to be considered individually, and that I'm not saying "All of these characters, all of them":
The Koopaites (as a group or with a single representative) - Pikmin 3
Louie - Pikmin 3
Chibi-Robo - Chibi-Robo: Photo Finder
Mallo - Pushmo, Crashmo, and Pushmo World
Dillon - Dillon's Rolling Western and Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger
Kappa - A Kappa's Trail
Spirit/Phantom Zelda - The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Tetra - The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
Impa - Hyrule Warriors
Isaac - Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (while not the protagonist of this particular game, Isaac is the iconic face of the franchise)
Trex - Fossil Fighters, Fossil Fighters: Champions
Oddballs:
Diskun - Fits with Mr. Game & Watch and ROB.
Nintendog
Isaac, Chibi-Robo are on my list. Dillon used to be on my list but I'm not sure if we'll ever see him in a game again.
Poor Dillon ;-;
Sorry for repeats. I tried to remember all the ones you had, but as a list it's difficult, ha... when I go over all the characters in a Smash game, I typically run through the CSS in my head.
I mean I could have had the list in another tab or something, but that would have required forethought.
Also I had it so that Ness and Lucas' PK Thunder only home to the ledge if they're off the stage. If they are on or above the stage it would work like it normally does.

making falco's up b blue isnt a major change. neither is "change (insert character)'s voice so that it sounds like the ones in game."

thats not really a good reason why. newcomers should just learn how to aim it properly. there's no reason to make it easier just because they always SD with it.

by making him op? little mac already has super armor on his smash attacks. he's fast on ground, hits quickly, and does a lot of damage. giving him better air mobility and a better recovery.
im also lost at the approachable part. many people use little mac on for glory, and for glory is usually filled with newbies...
That'd never work with varied levels, honestly Ness and Lucas work fine. They're not for beginners though because some things about them are pretty technical in every Smash game. If Ness' recovery were changed to that it'd actually be several several times worse. He'd never be able to use offensive mixups for it, and his recovery would be so predictable it'd hurt; edgegaurds would be free...
Hi, Ness main! :V
EDIT: Also recme I sent you like 5 metric tons of replay data, tell me what you think of them sometime
I figure you could balance Little Mac out by getting rid of some of his super sheilding, nerfing some attacks, and slowing him down a bit on the ground.
But I suppose that'd upset some people.
Little Mac is a bottom tier character. What would you do to fix that? Either way, I had always felt that the best way to make a Smash Bros game was for different people of different experiences to discuss what should be done. Having one mind behind everything is very foolish.
Little Mac isn't a bottom tier character. Smash 4 currently has no official tier list, but he's actually being considered mid-tier or high untapped mid-tier! He can be used extremely effectively without even trying too hard, a lot of the naysaying is exaggerated face-value POV. If any change had to be made to him, nuetral B and Jolt Haymaker need some sort of buffs to them to iron out his kinks. No idea why they patched Jolt Haymaker to travel less distance...
I'm currently playing Paper Mario Sticker Star, which is enough reason to bump this.
I want a Paper Mario fighter (what a twist!) I've been having ideas I just have to get out.
Costumes:
Obviously the four possible colors from TTYD. Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi colors. Ice and Fire Mario from Sticker Star and... eh... two more I guess. How about a White Raccoon color scheme. Oh, and Mr. L colors. There, that's 8!
'A' moves:
Paper Mario has plenty of ways to swing his hammer. Maybe one or more attacks that let him drop down and bounce off of enemies' heads, similar to his jump command.
'B' moves (the ones that matter):
Neutral B: Clone alert! It's the Fire Ball attack. It's a common move in Sticker Star.
Side B: Paper Koopa Troopa - Jumps on a Paper Koopa, causing it to fold into a shell-shape and kicks it forward. Others can jump on the shell, pick it up and throw it back.
Up B: Paper Plane - Inspired by Paper Jam, but first used in TTYD. Fly up in a diagonal angle. It's not too fast and can be adjusted mid flight. The tip does the most damage.
Down B: Flip Rotation - Does that rotating attack he could use in the first Paper Mario. Stands still without further input or moves in the direction held. Sucks in enemies for multiple hits and reflects projectiles. It's Mario's Cape and Cyclone in one!
Final Smash: Mega 8-bit Mario - You can play as an 8-bit Mario in Smash for the first time! Well, sort of. From Super Paper Mario, this is a transformation type Final Smash. Your options are limited. Really limited. Your only attack is jumping, which is devastating enough. Walking does the trick too. Or standing still. But moving deals the most damage. The Mega Star theme from Super Paper Mario plays.
I want this. I just voted for this. I already voted for Tails, but on a different device. Same IP-adress though. I hope that doesn't disqualify my votes. Paper Mario would represent the Mario RPG's.
I would like to see Wreck it Ralph!
WHAT THE FUCK, WHY WHY WHY.
