I kind of hope that those three get Amiibo. I really like the original three set (although it was a tremendous pain to wait for a good price to show up).

Hammerhead Bridge and Mini Splatling were already released, so the rest including the playable Octoling class seems to be pretty much confirmed.

"hey, these things are real, so these other things MUST be real!!" It's the same speculation we've all seen in 5th grade over Pokemon games.

- All of the weapon and stage data is stored on the disc. He didn't magically go into the future: Nintendo unveils this stuff weekly to keep the game alive and fresh, while at the same time making sure the game stays balanced. THIS is the main reason the person was hit with a C&D.
- The "Octoling hat" means nothing: it's a file that the leaker just renamed the files that the Inkling Girl's hair uses and bam. hair. If you swapped it onto the boy Inkling's head it would look the exact same.
If you notice, every hat the user attempts to put on the Octoling bugs out and ends up getting lost in her hair, or the brim of the hat clips through. Nintendo wouldn't allow this to go through QA, and half of these hats would have to be redrawn for it to be remotely acceptable.
We're talking about Nintendo here. The only thing they'd PROBABLY do is release an item that's an Octoling's hair PLUS the goggles that could be equipped onto a player character, but that's it. I highly doubt they'll be playable.

This is literally an Inkling Girl with the Octoling hair swapped on. Since it's a texture/model swap that doesn't completely wreck the game, this works and it looks clean. I'm pretty sure if there was an Octoling amiibo, it'd be wearing the Octoling armor and have completely different dialog to avoid confusion.

How you confirm a rumor is beyond me

It's basically saying "We're received word that this is just a rumor, but the assumption is made due to looking at filenames"

Why people in the scene act like such humongous fucking babies is beyond me. I'd rather it go down more like RTB where he showed actual data he found (not just model swaps), the Internet explodes and he just becomes the most hated man on the Internet for 24 hours with his response being like "oh, um, shit, sorry i didn't even mean for it to go wild whoopsie won't do it again". NWplayer is just acting extremely childish in comparison and just wants his 15 minutes of fame.


Like most of the stuff found here is really cool, but when only 2/3 of it is true and everyone starts speculating because of a script kiddie goofing around with game files

Ah, this is based on the hair swapping thing? Ugh, disappointing.

The thing people don't realize is that the Octolings are basically the inklings with their hair and hat models removed and replaced with Octoling models. Of course they almost look like they belong.

Even if this is not really happening, I do wish they'd make Amiibo of the other Splatoon characters. Doesn't matter which, they are all so cool.

aw man, I was just too happy. I also noticed the hat clipping, but I didn't pay attention to it since the samurai gear also clips with the girl's tentacles.

At least the weapons are real (I hope so).

Mini Splatling Deco is like a dream come true for me. finally, a Splatling that allows you to go all-in. I love playing both the Splatling and the Splattershot Jr. so it's like they just smooshed 'em into one gun.  The only thing I can't stand though is the Mini Splatling's miniature charge. ):
