The real title for the epic curtain call on the world of Earthbound is the game where you literally learn everything at some point was or is connected. Forgive me for being cheesy or gushy but Mother 3's proper Western name is:
Earthbounded.
"We can do this!.......Together!"
"this was bound to happen sometime"
But it lacks DragonDePlatino's gorgeous sprite remasterings....
IT WASN'T JUST ME THINKING THAT I COULD NEVER GO BACK TO THIS WITHOUT DRAGON'S RESPRITES, EASY EXP RING, AND MORE VARIED BATTLE MUSIC TRACKS (though I still think he should consider Roving Tank as a battle theme for some too...)

I am so used to calling it EB Zero or Mother so this is gonna be weird. ...And yeah, DDP's resprites certainly aren't bad either.
However, Itoi's little speech was really wonderful, I'll probably buy it to support Mother games being released westside.
Mother is an arse to play. NES RPGs don't really age very well. Really needed a remake instead of just a release. I mean it's cool and all but well - come on Nintendo, just get Mother 3 over her already...
I think its amazing to have for legacy purposes. Why remake it when we can get what we should've gotten way back? Now we can have Mothe- No, we can stop calling it that shit. We can have EARTHBOUND references in any game or form of media without just referencing one game, or having the awkward informative that "this is Japan only". Like I said, this is the first step to having the possibility of a Mother 3 at all. They have to make the full thing officially local.
This translation was DONE almost 30 years ago guys, this is just the prototype US cart running on a virtual console. "Podunk", "Ninten"...? This took no effort to port to VC so I find no reason to be disappointed at all, no time was wasted, there's only positives to it. Unless they use the fan-translation and work some things out, Mother 3 has an absolutely ungodly amount of text to translate, so I'd assume it'd take way way more time. This can tie people over who aren't familiar with the origins of Earthbound though.
A remake would've been cool, but there's no need for that TBH.

In all honesty, I might not play this much, but I'll get it to try and show support for more Mother stuff (i.e. Mother 3).
Also, since Nintendo's releasing this prototype, y'think we'll have a chance to see Starfox 2 in the near future?

For every release it loses a letter. Mother 3 will just be "EARTH"
