It's creepy stuff like that which made me abandon a completely Merciless route. I'm afraid of what might happen.

I actually redid the merciless route last night, but I did something different, and now... It's even worse. Oh god.

I've decided I'll pick this up when Steam has their ever popular Black Friday sale. This and Evoland 2, though the latter is the most priority, since I enjoyed the first one a lot. We know it's gonna happen~
I dunno how big the sale will be, but whatever it is, it'll make purchasing this hit-or-miss game easier to justify, you know? From all the reviews I've been reading, the experience of this game heavily depends on your attachment to the characters, and not having that makes the experience lackluster.

you know what,
i've heard of undertale a while ago, but beside the fact i thought it looked cool and interesting and didn't pay that much attention to it.
i've been playing the new chibi-robo and tri force heroes for 3DS the past few weeks, and for some reason most of the times i actually somewhat need to force myself to play them. i do need to play them because i have to write a couple of articles and a review for chibi-robo. and while both are not bad games, like at all; it just feel like there's missing something, some kind of magic. the kind of magic that gets you invested into a game, that makes you think '' i can't wait to play this game again!'' while you're doing something else.
few hours ago i was searching through my files for something, and stumbled upon my Undertale file that i've downloaded a less than a month ago. I couldn't play it back then because i was too busy with stuff, but since i felt pretty relaxed and thought i deserved a break i booted up my file of Undertale and started playing out of curiosity. especially with all the attention some old PT members i still have on my facebook gave it.
20 minutes in, and i'm already in love with it. it gives me that old school feeling a ''good game'' makes me feel. i'm tired now and have a couple of things to do tomorrow so i stopped playing. but as soon as i get the chance tomorrow i'll continu playing, might even invest a couple of hours in it.
long story short; i really don't care if this game becomes annoyingly overrated or over-hyped, a good game is a good game. i'm not far enough into the game by a long shot to already have a vast opinion on it and it's core, but the fact this has me more interested at the moment than a couple of A tittles i have the privilege to have early access to, says enough i think.
I'm going to have a good time.

Too late there buddy, lol. The art sites are already flooded with it. You know people, always bandwagoning and blowing things out of proportion, lol. Flappy Bird? Just remember! Overrated or Overhyped doesn't mean the game is bad. BUT, both can lead to the detriment of the experience of another, due to raising something to a pedestal that it doesn't end up living up to.

The funny thing is...
I don't think this game is overrated (except by people who say "IT'S THE BEST GAEM EEVVERRRR" but that's a reflex response)
many opinions I've read on this game are pretty rational (or at least speak to perfectly valid reasons to love this game) and it seems like it hits its intended audience with its intended message perfectly
I feel that its success and popularity, in this case, are pretty much well-deserved, and would not be surprised if it is basically the new cave story

It probably depends on who you ask. I don't think the game will be anything less than decent, just from the gameplay alone, but....
Let's use Ocarina of Time as an example. People always calling it the greatest game of all time and such, talking about how awesome the gameplay and story is. So naturally, it makes me turn my head and emulate it (this was several years ago) to check it out, only to be greeted with a game that isn't nearly the beast everyone claimed it to be. The overworld is bland and empty, the NPCs are all cookie-cutter RPG archetypes, except maybe Malon, and the gameplay is slow and tedious (enemies basically invulnerable for sessions at a time, so you just stand around and do nothing until they open up. In addition to drawn out cutscenes (chests, slow ass text boxes) and extremely slow travel across a large space of nothing happening.). I don't think the game is terrible, it's okayish, but compared to other games I've played, both older and newer, I just didn't get the hype, and think nostalgia is probably the major contributing factor to all the hype. I'd personally rate the game a 6/10. Above average with flaws, yet several positives, and naturally innovating the game industry with the 3D targetting system.
The overhype and across the board rating of Ocarina of Time pumped me up for something awesome, but what I got was something that was just "This one's okay." So after that disaster, I've learned not to buy into any of it, lol.

Undyne is the best boss fight I've had in forever, I'm stuck on Metatton EX and I hate him.

It might be best if you spoiler that. Most people aren't aware that's a boss fight later on.
If you're having trouble with Mettaton EX, you might want to load your inventory full of Mettaton-themed items from the Burger Emporium. If you eat those, it raises your rating and makes the battle end earlier.
Another interesting tidbit: If you hold down x then it slows down the movement of your soul. The game never tells you this but it's a good way to do some pixel-perfect dodging if needed.

If you are trying to spare him, you need 10k ratings, but it will only apply after a certain turn in his battle (he'll have suffered damage and yell at you)
Some items that quickly raise ratings by a few hundred or even a thousand are the Stick, Cloudy Glasses from Waterfall, or the branded food from the hotel that was already mentioned.
Also, use your Act menu. Boasting is my favorite, but you have to not get hit during the round to see the most benefits. Posing nets you more and more as you go, especially if you get damaged, and the last one that I forget what it's called raises ratings more for you getting damaged. Memorize when attacks you know are coming and choose the most appropriate action, such as Boasting before the Essay or Break time.

Except that people were calling it the greatest game ever made when it released. It's much more than just nostalgia blinders when people talk about OoT.
