I was really surprised you managed to get so far into the ripping of DKTF models... I am still waiting for the seal boss model that I saw on stage 1 (I think it's called "Big top bob", I don't have the game just yet, neither I have a Wii U )
it seems like we'll add another game into the models resource list very soon.
Well, the seal boss, Pompy, has his textured used in Smash Wii U's trophy. I have the textures, but not the original t-posed model.
I just wan't Freddy's rig and textures.
So it's called Pompy?... I thought it's name was on the boss level's title... anyway. I never expected the seal to appear as a Trophy in Smash Wii U.
Due to economical problems. I cannot afford to buy a Wii U... I'm saving for a PS4, and it probably will be a better inversion just in case in a future chance I might be able to rip models (Or help in getting the model files) from PS4 ISOS. and Wii U can wait a little more until I decide to buy it.
I will google for Pompy images, just for curiosity.
I'm just curious how the efforts in ripping textures are coming along?
Does anyone need more samples from me?

I guess it hasn't, ThatTrueStruggle has been the only to step up and he hasn't reported anything back yet.
I'm a little bit worried, Irastris. I need them textures cuz I personally can't texture worth crap except recolours and editing.
u can blame me... he's more hooked on Zestiria's texture format... ^^"
U CAN KILL ME LATER FOR TAKING HIM AWAY!! jk
hope he's able to get the texture data ripped properly for ya tho.
Same here, Slayer. Same here. I just wonder if he needs more samples or not.

Zestiria too?... WOW. Awesome... but it seems pretty off-topic by when I say that...
I hope it does include models as well...
Bumping, just to find out if anyone's made any recent strides since the thread is going dead.
While I personally haven't looked into the files much myself, I'm simply curious (and most likely being a nag at the same time) (sorry lol)
Just a little heads up in case anyone wants to take a stab at ripping skinned models. I figured out the basic structure of the SKEL format the other day. A lot of the actual data values are unknown but the main stuff you would actually need to rip the skeleton (ie bone transforms) should be pretty easy to find. The only real reverse engineering that's needed at this point is probably just figuring out where the bone hierarchy is determined + how bone IDs work and how they're referenced/skinned from the model. Here's the doc I wrote up:
http://www.metroid2002.com/retromodding/...le_Format)
I'm working out CHAR too, but the only info you actually need from that is the SMDL/SKEL IDs and those are right at the beginning of the file so detailed info on that format probably isn't necessary.
If anyone does wind up taking a look and figuring out more stuff about any of the formats it'd be really appreciated if you add it to the wiki c:
Has a TXTR tool been made yet?
Hi, I hate to pry or sound pushy, but any developments, Parax? Simply asking out of curiosity.

no, I'm not really super actively working on Tropical Freeze stuff right now... I might be tempted to try writing a maxscript importer sometime but I don't have 3ds max anymore + still don't really understand how to decode textures properly. Probably the only other thing I'll do for a bit is finish the basic CHAR documentation + I might try to document what all the parameters in TXTR are since I think I figured out how to find that out.
I really want to try writing some Tropical Freeze tools at some point but I got way too much other stuff on my plate at the moment.
All right. ^^ That answers my question. No biggie
I hope this isn't a stupid question, super newbie to ripping console game models, only done very little with PC games like the Fallout games, but reading this thread it sounds like there's still no way to rip/read the textures for Tropical Freeze? I saw some of the models posted to the site so I figured it had to be at the point where getting textures and models out was possible, or did you get the textures from other games like Brawl?
I'm just trying to figure out if there's enough tools out there now to dig in to the game and get the Super Mario Bros. 3 tank model so I can play with it in Blender and SFM.

I actually did write a script for that a while ago. I was pretty sure I linked to it here earlier, but I guess I didn't. Whoops!

Just use that QuickBMS script on the TXTR files and you'll extract those to GTX files, which you can then use with TexConv2.
