This is a Mario fangame I'm developing with Game Maker Studio

VERY OUTDATED!

Notify me of any bugs before I release a .gmz with the current stuff.

CONTROLS

Control / Z: Run
Shift / X: Jump / Swim / Get out of water (Keep it held when you're on the surface.)
Arrows: Move / Duck
ALT+R: Restart
ALT+F4: Quit
ALT+ENTER: Enable / Disable Fullscreen
ALT+F: Display / Not Display FPS
ALT+1...3 Change window size (It does not work in Fullscreen mode)

Here's something I added recently

I would recommend switching the shift key for something else, I can see issue coming up with people being unaware they have sticky keys enabled. maybe switch shift and control to z and x?
A new update is available

Additions
  • Added Z and X as alternative keys for Shift and Control.
  • Added hot keys. (Check first post for details)
  • Increased the speed of Mario while is under the effects of a starman.
  • Added a brand new effect when picking up a powerup.

Modifications
  • Fixed a bug when climbing up a vine.
  • Changed the pitch of the music when the time is under 100 seconds.

Removals
  • Removed a few entities from the engine test room.
A new update is available

Additions
  • Added Goombas and Koopas
This update took almost all the day to make ;3

Now with piranha plants and fire plants.

NOTE: I'm looking for a new name for this game, I accept suggestions that doesn't include any of the official Mario titles.
What makes this game/engine different from the others you've released?

I'm not trying to call you out or anything but you've made threads for a LOT of different Mario engines over the years. Other than the obviously different graphics, what makes this different than the other ones you've done? Why would I want to download this over, say, Drag Engine VII or Gatete Engine 8?

This one is not going to be open-source. I'm actually making a fangame with this thing =3
Sure, but what makes this particular fangame different from your other ones? You have a lot of fangames as well. What features does this one have sets it apart from your older ones?
This engine is more focused on the original "Super Mario Bros" engine.

The other engines were made for users who are new with Game Maker.
