I loled at this.
I do remember that being an issue in all RPG Makers. It took them this long to realize it?
Well, the addition of JavaScript makes me think of it becoming more like Unity. Good for them!

Glad to see them getting away from Ruby. It's a good language, but man is it a pain to get anything working right; it's just different enough from any other object-based language to cause headaches.
I'm hoping too that more of the "hidden" code will be more accessible, like manipulating how sounds are processed without having to jump through hoops. That might just be wishful thinking on my part though...
What i really loved was that:
Oh god yeah. One click side view.
Although I have to wonder how customizable it is. Will we be able to go through the same detailed skill sequences like the battle systems we saw in VX and VXA? Or is it going to be more early FF-like on default?
I've always wanted to do concept stuff for a project in RPG Maker.
RPG Maker is pretty easy to get into, to be honest. Even just using the default, you can put together a full game easily enough. I've mentioned before, but I've used this series... way too much. Like since RPG Maker 95 too much.
...I should put some of my projects up on here. I'm working on a first person, pseudo 3-D dungeon crawler based on a story I'm writing.
