At the time this was happening, there was a bomb threat going around. This person was in an open air parking garage so they could pretty easily step away unless you're packing some dispensary method which would put any members of the public at risk. Dallas is in an incredibly windy area as is so a gas would be a coin flip at best (a lot of South and East Texas is heavily affected by the gulf and such. We get sand from Africa during the summer sometimes. https://weather.com/science/weather-expl...-of-mexico ). You could take the risk of neutralizing this individual in a different manner than how they had, but you wouldn't want to. The police have snipers. This wasn't a position they would normally take if not for the severity of the situation. I apologize if what I'm typing is inaccurate. I haven't been looking into this past when I was watching it live and it was very late at night when things were uncertain so I may have garbled some of the information that I was presented. By this point, it was uncertain if the individual was actually affiliated with the others, and people had been injured or killed.
I may be the craziest guy in town, but I feel that Trunp is going to win (he wouldn't have become the republican frontrunner if people didn't like him) and this is all going to devolve into a civil war over racism, and "Trump anit my president!" But like I said... This might just be a insane ramble
Trump is doing well among people for 3 main reasons.

1. He's one of the first presidents to not sugar coat anything and speak exactly how he feels. In other words, he's anti PC, and a lot of us are sick of the PC, SJW bullshit as well, with all the nonsense about trigger warnings, safe spaces and name calling. Many of us feel like he's going to bring with him a big social revolution. He definitely is, just because of the sheer fact that he's like Hitler to Generation Snowflake, and I can't wait to put him in office and trigger them more, so they can learn that the world doesn't revolve around them.

2. He's the only candidate who's not defending the Islam ideology. People keep calling it the peaceful religion and all that, but most of the time, these terrorist attacks, or if not terrorist attacks just shootings, are done by practitioners of Islam. It's not everyone, no, but the actual ideology itself isn't up to date with 1st world, western society values. In 11 Islamic countries, they still practice and hold true to Sharia Law. Women are 2nd class citizens and treated like property (rape isn't even a thing over there, there's a REAL rape culture over there, not over here in the west), and gays are killed either by stoning or being thrown off buildings. This ideology simply isn't compatible with western society and keeps causing conflict, as is constantly being shown, but the other candidates are quick to call everyone "Islamophobes" for pointing out the ideology causes problems, as well as blaming everything else like, guns, which brings us to the third point.

3. He's pro 2nd Amendment, and probably realizes what anyone with common sense would know: Banning guns isn't going to stop the sociopaths out there from killing people, nor will it make it harder for them to get guns (Black Market). It's just going to make it harder for normal people to defend theirself. "Gun Free Zones" are "safe spaces" for killers. They are fully aware that if they go to any of those zones to start shit, no one's going to be able to shoot back for at least half an hour until authorities arrive. Even if those places just restricted firearms to security, all the killers would have to do is take out security first, and then start wreaking havoc on the common people.

You don't have to agree 100% on everything a candidate says, and you never will. But what matters most is if the candidate intends to tackle issues you care about, which for many people now, is Trump. We're tired of the SJW bullshit, we're tired of all the problems arising from the incompatibility with the western society and the Islam ideology, and we're also tired of people blaming guns for everything.
It seems like this has become My Thing around here lately, but Koh, buddy, friend, guy, you're an idiot.

Trump is a professional liar, that's his deal, it's what he does and what he's always done, he's not even good at it because he can't keep his own lies straight. All of his big platforms are nonsense, at best they're impractical and at worst they're literally impossible.
I don't know what's got you so upset about all the "SJW bullshit", but you seem a little over-sensitive about it, are you mad that people are looking out for each other and not paying attention to you all the time? Maybe just frustrated that you don't know what a "trigger" actually is? And something about safe spaces? Like you're upset that you're not allowed into some places? Are you really that desperate to get into a closed support group or something?

Yes, most terrorist attacks are done by Islamic groups right now, at least the ones that aren't done by American Christians, or, shock horror, atheists. That would be because they're attacks by extremists with radical anti-American views. Blaming that on Islam would be like blaming it on Catholicism when the IRA were blowing up London, or just Christianity in general when America did...well, take your pick there. I do agree that Sharia Law is terrible, it's an out of date system of governance that I'm dead set against, also one that the President of the United States specifically can't do much about. I mean, maybe they can drop more bombs on them or something? That's totally made things better every time that's happened, might be why they love the ol' US of A so much.

Oh, and guns, second amendment, "from my cold dead hands", whatever. America is literally the only western country that struggles with this so there's only so much enthusiasm I can work up over a centuries old piece of paper signed by slave owners that says you can own a murdertoy.

Have you SEEN all the nonsense that happens because of it?  They aren't fighting for equal rights or anything, they're literally doing the following things with their agenda.

1.  Silencing anyone who disagrees with them, and looking stupid in the process.  There are NUMEROUS videos that show this. Have.  A. Small.  Handful.

2.  Sending us BACK in time with their identity based politics.  Our forefathers fought hard to give us equal rights and opportunities, which we have, but now these SJWs are trying to send us back with identity based politics.  "Oh, you're a straight white man?  Your thoughts are irrelevant."  "You're gay and trans?  Well, you're not as oppressed as a lesbian trans woman, so check your privilege."  They might as well have their oppression olympics already.

3.  Safe Spaces and trigger warnings only serve to infantilize the people.  Psychology has proven that the best way to overcome REAL PTSD, as in not just someone disagreeing with you, is through systematic exposure over time, not from avoidance.  It's infected many colleges and universities around the country (even in Europe and Canada), and has started to get people to call them "expensive daycares."

4.  They insist everyone is a victim, and everyone else is the problem.  They don't want to take any personal responsibility for things.  "Something bad happened to me?  It MUST be because of my vagina/sexuality/race.  Not because that one person was an asshole, or I was not as qualified for the job position I applied for as someone else."

5.  The Body Positivity movement, that only serves to tell obese people that they're alright, when they're medically not, and are more  at risk for so many problems.

6.  Tumblr and its 72 Genders.  There are only two genders.  Trigger warning:  FACT.  Trans is not a gender, it's the state of transitioning from one gender to other.  Hermaphrodite could arguably be a gender, considering it's the presence of both genitalia, but if you count that, that would be 3 genders max.  Demigirl and this other nonsense isn't real.

7.   The feminist myths that just won't die, that have been disproven continuously for the past 30 years.

8.  Fanaticism over ever tinier things:  Manspreading, Mansplaining, Microaggressions.  If these things are so tiny that you need to call them microaggressions, perhaps the problem is with you and getting offended by everything, rather than other people.

9. Expecting Equality of Outcome instead of Equality of Opportunity. We already have the latter, which is why we have celebrities of all races and backgrounds who have made it big, and why you can pursue any career you want. But this isn't good enough for them. They want to force some random quota of representation of people and backgrounds in fields, like trying to force more women into the sciences and stuff to meet some arbitrary quota, instead of seeing that there's no glass ceiling. Women can be scientists if they want, but most of them don't want to.

10. Trying to respond to racism and sexism by being racist and sexist. Feminism has been taken over by the man-hating crazies, with hashtags like #KillAllMen and #MasculinitySoFragile, and movements like Black Lives Matter respond to perceived racism with more racism against white people.

The list goes on, but these are the annoyances that first come to mind.  They expect everyone else to cater to them and their demands.

As for the Islamic countries, we don't have to do anything, but we shouldn't be taking in millions of refugees either, because they're bringing the problems with them.  Plenty of sources to see this happening, with the most recent being the chaos in Europe.

See, the issue is when you have genuine equality of opportunity you will always end up wth race and gender disparities.
Therefore, we simply have to have more quotas. #Hillary2016 #ImWithHer
I know that this thread is about things that are currently happening, but it feels like discussing an election in a thread that started because of a terrorist attack is a little misplaced.

Koh you need to provide sources to back up your arguments. Which there is plenty of online. Sargon of Akkad has plenty of videos to back up arguments.

Also the way you are presenting these arguments won't convince anyone of anything I'm afraid.
I know this whole thing has moved, and this is totally not topical or anything, but you'll have to forgive me for a little reaction straight from brain to screen here.

Now all positions and perspectives aside, this hooked me in the eye because I've seen that guy around, which is why this was funny to me.
Sargon of Akkad is a pseudo-intellectual talking head, his videos are opinion pieces with very little actual value to them. He's basically a stock Liberal, if you watch a couple of his videos you can pretty much tell where he stands on any issue, with the exception of his self-contradictions.

This is a guy who started a petition to suspend "social justice" courses, addressed to "universities". That's not how any of those things work.
What makes you say that? His videos make perfect sense from the perspective of reason and logic.

All of his videos have sources like this:
http://nypost.com/2016/07/01/elite-k-8-s...rn-racist/
Which shows how dangerous these ideologues can be.

Logic and evidence are just imagined constructs of the anglo-saxon eurocentric capitalist system, though.
Easy now, you might ~trigger~ me, and then you'd get a smug ego induced boner and it'd get all awkward.

You pretty much just asked the question and then answered it for me. Just putting it out there, y'know, sure it doesn't mean anything, but do you think it's possible that this article on the New York Post, which I'll grant you is naturally totally free of any and all biases and agendas, and is a well respected analytical source, might maybe have a little bit of spin to it? One that possibly pushes a specific perspective someone might have been looking for in the first place?

Besides, as I said, he's just another talking head, he drones at his videos about issues he isn't equipped to understand beyond how they impact his own life, performs no critical analysis, spew buzzwords, presents nothing new and then sits back and waits for his fanbase to tell him how great he is. Forgive me if I hum along, I've heard this song way too many times now.
Well then how can you trust what anyone says? How do you know that articles you agree with aren't the one's trying to push a certain perspective? How do you know which sources are trustworthy?

And I'm sure you haven't seen all of Sargon's videos. He makes some videos explaining in great detail his stances. But you won't find them on his "This Week in Stupid" videos which are mostly designed as reactionary videos.

Also, how do you become "equipped to understand" these issues? How do you know you're not the one who's been fed bullshit and hasn't been critical to what you heard?
