EDIT4: Pronounced dead because I just decided that there's nothing wrong with regular pre-made sprites (plus I doubt anyone was wanting to help me out, anyway...), so I'm just going to do this by myself, and make a few custom sprites for the game and release it. Simple as that. Sorry if I let anyone down, I just think that this is probably better.
If you WANT to help out, feel free. I just need them to look TotW style or Kingdom Hearts CoM style.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT3: I'm currently working on an example sprite sheet, it is the simplest character in the game, but you'll want an example dished out EXTREMEY quick, right?
Oh yeah, and I'm adding a little thing next to the character's names so that way you know who's working on who so you can make your decision without "Oh man, someone already did him!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT2: Probably picked up on this notion by now, but that Gale sprite I have at the bottom SHOULD be about the size of the sprites. Just remember: He's supposed to be 5'9", so use him for measurement, so if Ganondorf, the tallest character in the game bar Giratina Origin Form (who by the way, is HUGE) is shorter than him, there's going to be a little problem... Just thought I'd get this out of the way.
Oh yeah, and if you feel like making a character of your own and request putting it into the game, you can! Just make sure it fits the theme (which would be Smash Bros. Sword-style) Not doing this for a whole lot of people, just the ones who can make up the best characters. When I create Version 1.1, I'll add in a few more.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Okay, upon trying with the Kirby Advance sprite-making section, I came to realize that making a sprite isn't all that hard. I have an example at the bottom. And I would like to note that that's my FIRST EVER shot at making a sprite! Pretty good for a beginner, huh? Oh yeah, that's what I want the sprites to look like, too, okay? Maybe better, if possible. Again, I'm going for a 3D-ish look.
People seem to be getting the idea that I'm just trying to get sprites out of you guys... well I'm not. I'm working here myself trying to get a game together, meanwhile I'm sure a lot of people here are going to be thinking I'm just being some kind of freeloader. Well I'm not. The stuff listed down there, that's just the stuff I would like help in the process of making, that's not all the stuff. And even if it was: I'm still the one who has to put it together. I'm doing my part in this project.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, I read the thread titled "Help Wanted", and I just hope that people reading this don't jump to any wrong conclusions. And no, before you say anything I didn't join just to do this, I thought of this idea AFTER I joined.
For a little while now I've been trying to work on a little Smash Bros-BASED (keyword: BASED) game using Game Maker using major characters from (mostly) various RPG games, and I was thinking of just using pre-existing sprites, but when looking at the Smash Bros. Project (forgot what it was actually named and too lazy to check back) it hit me: Why don't I try and see if the nice people here in the Spriter's Resource Forums will help me make custom sprites? So that's what I want to ask you:
Can you PLEASE help me out in the production of this game (more info at the bottom)? I'm hoping that this game will be a big hit across the Internet (kind of like how Super Smash Flash was), and I want you to be able to play the biggest part ever in it! I would gladly give you SPECIFIC credit (not just saying "got sprites and such from the Spriter's Resource", more like "Cloud Strife was created by Geo the Fox" or something like that) in the beginning movie of the game AND in the Credits Roll, among a whole lot of other things I could include while making this. I would do my part gladly, but I'm no good at making the kinds of sprites I need (look at the attached and tell me I'm wrong), and you guys are, so if you could either straight-up help me or tutor me in sprite-making, that would REALLY be a great contribution!
Character Model Hopes:
Would like it if they almost looked 3D, not so much 'spritey'. Kind of like in the Smash Bros. Project thing, or kind of like Donkey Kong Country (except not so much so). I hope you get the idea... I'm not just accepting total pro-type dudes, I'll also accept new people, but either way I'm going to say whether it "passed" or not, and if it doesn't you'll need to do it again. But don't worry, I'll tell you what needs to be done to fix it, so you're not sent guideless.
Stuff needed for each character:
~Idle animation
~Running Animation
~Basic Attack Animation
~Special Skill Animation (PM me about that for the character you're using!)
~Secret Skill (Final Smash-type thing) animation (PM me about that, too!)
~Jumping Animation (preferably an aerial attack animation as well)
~Guarding Animation
Think you can contribute? Here is a list of the characters I need:
~Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII; Advent Children style)-Open
~Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy VII)-Open
~Zack Fair (guess... Final Fantasy VII)-Open
~Sephiroth (same as last three)-Open
~Squall Leonheart (Final Fantasy VIII)-Open
~Isaac (Golden Sun)-Open
~Felix (Golden Sun)-Open
~Sora (Kingdom Hearts)-Open
~Roxas (Kingdom Hearts)-Open
~Cress Albane (Tales of Phantasia)-Open
~Chester Burklight (Same ^)-Open
~Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia)-Open
~Kratos Aurion (Same)-Open
~Zelos Wilder (Same)-Open
~Mithos Yggdrasill (Same)-Open
~Kyle Dunamis (Tales of Destiny 2)-Open
~Asch the Bloody (Tales of the Abyss)-Open
~Luke fon Fabre (Same)-Open
~Link (Legend of Zelda)-Open
~Ganondorf Dragmire (Twilight Princess look with sword) (Legend of Zelda)-Open
~Grovyle (Pokémon)-Open
~Shaymin (Sky Form; Pokémon)-Open
~Giratina (Origin Form; Pokémon)-Open
I also do need a couple entirely 'custom' custom sprites, but I'll get to those later. Also, when there are at least completed characters I'll put up a new picture that'll basically be a checklist.
I really hope you can help out! Thanks in advance!
Game Name: Negative Zero Combat
File used to make: Game Maker 7 Pro
Gameplay: Like Super Smash Bros, except it uses an HP system. Otherwise, perfectly the same.
If you WANT to help out, feel free. I just need them to look TotW style or Kingdom Hearts CoM style.
