I just hope it has some sort of challenge. X/Y looked pretty but was just an absolute bore to play. Platinum was just such a great and massive game.
I mean I have no idea what fairy type are weak against. I never needed to know. Because the answer to what everything is weak against is Mega-Evolved Charizard of which you got pretty damn early on and thus needed use nothing else, specially with experience-share being utterly broken.

I like that the overworld looks more on par with today's RPGs rather than the grid-based one from the predecessors.
Another plus is how they decided to make them properly proportioned instead of chibi in-game.
One thing though, I do like the female trainer more. Probably has to do with that dorky little chicken-looking hat she's wearing.
Now with the starters. This would be a tricky one for me to choose as all three have neat, goofy designs and quirks.
Another forum said they might be based on circus performers: Magician, fire eater, with clown being the obvious one.
I Dunno, well just have to wait and see.

I guess I'm still annoyed that we don't have a Kiwi Pokemon yet.

Doduo always looked more like a kiwi than an ostrich or whatever.

I know people are always super quick with their pokemon fan art but holy shit that was fast for a plush.

The plush is even featured on the news feed on Google Search after typing in "Rowlet" and it's the first one at the top.
Some fanart I've seen come from fans of Love Live who made cute ones involving Kotori Minami.
Still, it was fast for a plush to be made. I've seen clay sculptures of all three starters done too.

Okay so first impressions of the new starters is that I actually like them.
For once since gen two they're actually trying different shit with them. Seal clown is probably going to be my top pick since it doesn't look like a complete knock off on what the past couple of water starters were trying to do.
On another note:
Not going to rule anything out of the realm of possibilities, but given how people thought that Mewtwo Y and the Gen 5 evos turned out to be real when everyone called fake it wouldn't surprise me if they were real.

Looks like I'll be going fire type first time around for this if I end up getting the game. I like the owl, but I don't like teaching my starter HMs.

I'd agree for like 80% of the HMs, because they're weak and pointless in battle. But Surf, Fly and Waterfall are the only useful ones to have.
I still hold the notion that HMs in general are a dumb concept, and should be replaced with tool items the player can get for the overworld functionality.

HM's have kind of become irrelevant only because TM's have become more permanent anyways.
I mean yeah they made sense when TM's were just a one use item but now that they aren't I think HM's should become TM's at this point.

HMs should just be background abilities. So certain pokemon can use cut but it doesn't take a slot up. Because, you know, cut is a bag of smeg.

They should just get rid of the "forget this move" thing... let your Pokemon have access to all the moves it's learned, but assign only four for battles or something.
