So since I'm only just learning to make decent fully custom models I doubt anything you see here will be anything near 'good', but I'm still giving it a shot. I'm also self-teaching, so improvement will be slow do to the lack of an actual class or anything. The only thing I've really put out so far is Auron's Masamune from FFX. It's a fully custom model, but is currently without textures and while I tried to map the default texture onto it the way I made the model doesn't really make it work like that, so this is just mostly showing off the shape.

The picture in the corner shows the outcome of trying to apply FFX's original texture to the model.
Is that Milkshape?

Well, i cant tell too much of the Model without textures, but it looks good (Yeah, you dont love yourself u.u)
MilkShape for the corner pic yes (Don't know why) but I've been learning 3DS Max.
So I've been learning 3DS Max recently and plan to hopefully try out my new skills on some game assets in the future. I've had Max for years and used it to manipulate and modify my fair share of models for various projects, but I've never actually learned to go and make fully custom models until now. The last image is an AO bake on the Masamune model that I made this thread to show off in the first place.

That dumpster model's texture is an Ambient Occlusion bake, correct?

I feel like you could probably sneak in some more texture. As a simple AO bake tends to be flat. This can easily be done in an editor such as GIMP, and placing another texture on top, and setting the blend mode to overlay. (such as metal, or plastic of sorts).

Maybe then, a normal map could be added, so it can be easier to define details, such as rust, or paint chips.

Yeah, it's an AO bake, and I actually lay them over the textures using Photoshop + Multiply when I do. These are just practice though, I have no intentions to do anything with them.
I have two very WIP models to show off: Masamune from Final Fantasy X (Which is much better than the original piece of crap I showed off here) and F.L.U.D.D. from Super Mario Sunshine. Both are still WIP models with no textures. Overall I'm happy with both at the moment. I need to clean up the topology and hilt of Masamune and the handles, upper area, and belt of FLUDD.

Accidentally borked the smoothing groups for that pic, oops ^
Got the base of every nozzle done. I need to clean them up and tweak the details, but for the most part it's complete. The Rocket tough... bleh. Textures and all that fun stuff might come later.

Looks wonderful. Smile
For those who are curious, this is where the model was used.

Brief hiatus, got back into it with these WIPs:

Ohhhhhh lovely details
When I try to open the images of the models in question I either get an X or a notice saying 'the image you requested does not exist'. Just a heads up, since I can't see the fruits of your work.

Yea, unfortunately, I cleaned out my Imgur since most of these were made but you can still see the Banjo model images here. I might upload some new ones later and update these posts.

Darn, i wanted to see them. I'll be keeping an eye for any new stuff, though. Keep it up!  Wink
