I'm working on a project that i wish do from a long time,
But actually i'm stuck... :/
How i can easily convert these files, and relatives:
VMDL_C
VTEX_C
[OT: also VSND_C]
I cnow that must be decompiled to "classic" valve file
But i don't find a simple way to do it.
I use win XP x86...
Someone can help me?
I search around and find that is about decompling.

Update, i now can convert
the VTEX_C files through Noesis.
I finally have find a script for that, and soon,
When i solve my pc problems (hoping before august)
Ill' try to work on it.

I found this vmesh_c plugin for blender, BUT, beside some models, usually gave me issues, like missing elements or messy nodes with detailed models....

Someone can help me? I'll upload some file as a tester soon.
@Smakkohooves
I can't help you with the vmesh_c plugin for blender nor don't I know how to decompile the source2 data files but I do know how to get all the Dota2 models with textures and animations into blender and eventually into 3ds max. It's easy and it's the best method to do so.
Not sure though if that is what you want but if so... Then leave a reply and we can talk further.
Kind Regards,

Mh that can be useful because is the same format of Dota2 but is another game that i want rip....
Ill' upload next some files that gave me issues, so you
or who want, can help me to fix this problem.
I'll put a model with missing pieces and another one with messy stuff.
Also i put a model that works well, just for reference.
I have solved almost all the issues with source2 by using a blender add-on, called "sourceIO" , it can import almost all the model/textures from source 1 and 2 in to blender (From blender 2.92 to latest)
I also have fixed some texture issue, by disabling
the alphas on the image section in the texture paint part.
Thanks to Red_Eye for help.
+++++++
The only thing i have issues now are two:
- Convert the VSND_C files
- Fix some texture liear issues, because some textures have kinda a horizontal linear alignement messed up
