... I can't believe I just referred to Nintendo as "not that smart". Dear God my faith in them is at more of an all-time low than even I realized.

Nintendo have never been smart. There business is run in a very 'it's worked for this many years in Japan so we aren't changing' manner.

You only have to look at the success of the Genesis to see that a bit of western influence/control can be hugely beneficial - but I think Nintendo will die before they allow anyone else a say in how things should be done...

Like how Nintendo was supposed to be dead since 1889 I guess

It's now the 'other' console though isn't it? Like the NES was THE console, then Sega took a bite and now Sony and Microsoft are your big 2 and you 'also' have a Nintendo.

Oh hey what you playing Fifa on? Not Nintendo. Oh hey this new game is out, what's it on? Everything but Nintendo!

The Switch, will do fine, Nintendo will make money. Out of their piece of the market. Out of there comfortable 'we will not change strategy' market.

If that's all they want, fine. But with iOS and the like taking a large chunk out of the handheld market, well. A different approach isn't a bad idea...

You buy a Nintendo system to play Nintendo games - not as a main console (unless Nintendo games are all you want).

I'm not saying Nintendo is in trouble, or is going to die - I'm just saying they could do better. Easily.

i was actually kinda joking about my 12 preorders. 
i panic-ordered TWO pairs of joycons in addition to the console prior to launch realizing i'll be perfectly satisfied with just one pair of joycons and one classic controller at least until ARMS comes out (which hopefully, giving Nintendo the benefit of the doubt, they'll stabilize stock numbers on those at least) i just cancelled those like right after posting. i feel like i'm going to regret that decision, though.

i do have like a carrying case, screen protector etc. along with my console and BOTW, but at the moment I'm heavily contemplating Super Bomberman R




the only multiplat I'm considering at the moment is Puyo Tetris. when they announced it stateside for the Switch I was devastated as I bought the Japanese version a week prior for the PS4 ): However as the date nears I'm really considering just buying it digitally for either platform unless there's some Beautiful Collector's Edition Things bundled along with the physical card

Bomberman is, to me, probably the best looking thing on there. Would be amazing having some old-school sofa Bomberman battles but then... man, pretty pricey to get 4 players going...

I mean I guess another set of Joy-cons would do it, but those things look pretty small if you can just use one of them to play...

Nintendo's indie lineup for the Switch looks pretty good. Flipping Death and Blaster Master Zero in particular, have me interested.

Blaster Master Zero is also on the 3DS and Flipping Death will be on 'other platforms' apparently so erm... well...

but I'm pretty sure the Switch version is going to have access to its entire library (instead of paying like $1 per song)
