No, I'm not file-dumping again. I learned my lesson this time.

However, I am wondering whether it's possible to take sprites from screenshots of a game, or whether that somehow removes it from the fullest quality.

I'm asking this because I'm wanting to rip the backgrounds and characters from scriptwriting/movie-making games called Hollywood and Hollywood High, though the game's viewport naturally crops the sprites to a tiny 16:9 window, cutting off the legs; though the legs are usually inanimate anyway for this reason, I've seen some characters move their legs in some poses.

Examples of both games' output

It's a little hard to explain the game for someone who has no knowledge of it, but I'll try to clarify. Mostly, I'm concerned about screencap ripping.

I'm able to take movies using DOSbox's movie capture utility, so that I can capture sprite animations on the fly, but these movies will not play in VLC or open in Photoshop; they will only open in Windows Media Player and Windows Movie Maker, meaning if want to edit it, I would have to change the movie's codec to something more destructive of the data.

If there's another way, I'd be glad to hear it.

Though the download link is down on that video for now, I have been able to find it through Google and downloaded a similar program from this site. Thanks!
