Might as well help out since the project seems to be winding down and getting closer to the end. For some reason, I don't feel comfortable ripping NES games. It just doesn't feel right... Even with 20+ rips done for it, it doesn't give the same motivation and most likely to give up faster. It might just because of got to see the NES at a different point of view and didn't grew up with it, still has some good games though. Looking at the list, it's mainly sports games and really old RPG/Strategy games even though there are still a couple of decent games left (like Super Spy Hunter). Speaking of which, the list itself:
Elite wasn't released in the US and by the nature of the game not much to rip. There's a title screen, a background, the display at the bottom and a bunch of lines at an angle. I thought it was that technique where there weren't any sprites but reading info seems to be sprites because the NES isn't fast enough to do that. Eh?
Stadium Events and World Class Track Meet are the same game, one is rare in the US and the other is dirt common being bundled. As far as I know the differences are the title screen, the Bandai logo got replaced in game and maybe a few changes here and there. Hey, at least there's one less game to rip.
Ultimate League Soccer is a cleaned up version of a NSFW game (AV Soccer), cleaned up as in removing the cutscenes. It's also a bootleg.
Saying that got a couple of sports games done and one that I'm very familar with...
Despite the name, BMX Simulator is actually a port of
Professional BMX Simulator due to the music, able to select your terrain, the riders themselves even though it dropped a 4th player as well as the simulation mode. Strange that on the Amstrad CPC (its original platform) it is considered one of the better games while on the NES, it is considered one of the worst Western developed games judging by reviews, probably doesn't help that it was a 3/4 year old game at that point. At least you don't have to mess about with two cassette tapes and it is easier to rip from.
Very glitchy to start a game though. As for the rest of the Quattro pack, the Tennis one is pretty bad but that's like that on any system that got the game and heard similar things about the Soccer one.
NES Play Action Football - Referee, Team Icons
I don't know much about football apart from someone called John Madden. Tried playing various games including Blitz: The League but still can't understand it. Nearly finished ripping the players but because I don't know where the animation goes due I have no clue where they go (the sprites were a bit all over the place but most of them were thankfully put together) so had to make do with last minute substitution rips. If anyone wants the unfinished sheet and wants to polish it, just ask via PM.
At least the penultimate(?) Nintendo published game is here. I think there's just To the Earth left in terms of games that were released in the US. Oh has Stadium Events been claimed yet? It's because I'm currently working on a sheet of that game.
