I'll be experimentin' on models with higher polygons now. I'll still do Low-Poly, but now, I'm working on a new model with more polygons.
I'll be working on this one:
Valentina from
Super Mario RPG. I sketched her in front view (since she lacked one and had trouble figuring out the form from the artwork from the left) and so far, I done her torso
There's more left to do here, but wish me luck!
Your frontal view sketch looks fairly accurate to the original, only thing that really stands out to me is the length of her arms, you've drawn them much shorter than the original's.
That aside, good luck, I hope you get great at 3D Modelling, there's so much you can do with it and the end results of a good model are very satisfying.
I feel the same, the arms look a tad small.
I'd also suggest doing a side pose. As it's very hard to model from a 1-view reference.
Thanks for the replies 0w0 (yeah - them arms need fixin~)
Can't wait to see how this turns out. Nice start!
It is done and sent to Resource.
Whew! Ith was haaaaaaaaard to make, but it was worth it~
Won't edit this model for now. ;w;
Now back to work on sum' Low Polys, and might make Dodo next
I mean, you can't make one without the other.
Her mouth looks a bit off in the render. Is that because of scaling the image?
Yeah that can also be it. =w=
Is it because the render is taken at an ortho perspective? (AKA: facing perfectly to the front/side)
How does it look in a non-perfect angle?
Here we are. And dis could be because the mouth's sliiiiiiiiiiiiightly open. (and because I can't find where to enable the back textures to be invisible, which leaves outlines - I checked on other model viewers and it looks fine)
What editor is this? As I know programs like Blender have a "backface culling" option for Open GL renders.
With the Valentina model complete (+ some readjustments), now I can move on to some other model ideas. One of them being Dodo.
I... might as well plan to make a custom Tawna (Crash Bandicoot). I'll keep that one in mind as well. =w=
I haven't posted anything here in a while, so here's an update! I'm working on two models: Veran (The Legend of Zelda Oracle games) and the Pionpi (an enemy from Super Mario Land) - I already done Veran's body, but I haven't given her the whole outfit just yet (But I did post ya'll the sketches for the modeling), so stay tuned!
May I see the wireframe?
Just wanna see the topology.
