These are just extremely simple recolors, and not very good ones at that. They're missing a lot of detail and contrast from the original artwork, almost like they've been washed out.
Compare the original sprite to your red one. The original uses shading correctly to add detail to the image. It has a good balance of light and dark colors to add contrast to the sprite, which adds more depth. Yours by comparison is almost entirely one shade of red with some very faint shades added. The purple one isn't much better and the golden one is slightly better, but still not very good. Here is an example of how the recolor ideally should have looked:
However, I would recommend avoiding doing simple recolors entirely from now on. They're the most boring and basic things you could possibly do with sprite art. Case in point, the red alien took me about a minute to make. Recolors generally come off as lazy and are unwanted by most people. I would say look at the official game's artwork and create your own original art based off of it. Relying on existing artwork and editing it usually doesn't look good unless heavily edited, and even then its a terrible crutch to get stuck into.
Making your own artwork from scratch is the best case scenario, but if you absolutely must rely on the official artwork (I know it can be helpful when first starting out), only take basic bits and make sure to edit them enough to not be obviously recognizable. Make it more unique, add your own flair.

Your recoloring is better, but they're still recolors.
Photoshop or other Programs aren't really necessary to make good sprites. The most you need is access to your Computer's Default Art Program (like Microsoft Paint). As for Android, I am not sure. But if that is the case, it is best to simply wait for your PC to work and use the default program there.

If you are indeed working from an Android phone, try out Pixly. Its a free program that I've used multiple times. Getting a simple stylus that works on phone touch screens also helps greatly. As long as you're motivated and want to improve, then keep striving to get better and better. Just keep practicing. Nobody is expecting you to become an expert over night. We've all been in a similar position before.
