I check frequently the main site, and i notice a thing, that disappoints me.
The increasing of the nsfw erotic content.
I understand if a game have some sexy pose, or naked caracter, but accepting esplicit content from games that is all about a CLEAR NSFW erotic purpose, in particular some pc titles, is WRONG.
This is NOT a pronogapic website, so these things, even with a nsfw notice before, should be cleaned up from the site, the pourpose of the site is NOT that.
the purpose of this site is to archive game assets. there is nothing that prevents us from hosting NSFW content as long as it is a game asset.

what about gore then? I find those even more immoral and yet you dont seem to be annoyed by them. Why is that?

the point is not "prohibiting" or "allowing" content, but serving graphics used in games. the NSFW tag exists already to notify you it contains questionable data.

this being said, i dont know if there is a system toggle to hide all nsfw content in updates and sheets, the admins should make one if not
There isn't one, but I think it's a good idea. I would support such a feature.

But yeah, we can't just remove NSFW content because you consider it "wrong". Nudity, gore, as long as it's a resource of a game it'll be hosted (unless the developer requests us not to). This site's sole purpose is as an archive and gallery, a museum of sorts. This is like asking a video store to not have any pornographic movies available, even if they are in a separate and clearly marked section. Or indeed, for Google to not provide links to pornographic websites, even though it has Safe Search.

Once people surpass NSFW warnings anywhere, they are fully responsible for what they see. This website is no different.
i'd say we need to be even more flexible on NSFW stuff.
representation of the Nudity and porn are an art from the beginning of the time and... I've never seen someone complain about a beautiful picture of a naked man/woman.
That's our body and we shouldn't be ashamed of representing it or the sexual act
Some NSFW content i've sent was actually not accpted, and while i don't agree with the reasons for what i've saied before, i see where the mods are going and I accept it.
Can't Post That On A Christian Spriting Web Site

Kinda with Ken here; there's got to be a line drawn as to what's "OK NSFW" and "Not OK NSFW"

There's OK NSFW - art, like Michelangelo's David, that while you shouldn't focus on specific assets, you can comfortably show to a classroom. Then there's not-OK stuff - like very explicit depictions of violence [gore, dismemberment] or explicit depictions of sexual intercourse ["hardcore"]

Bringing things back to gaming, this means you probably don't want to host images from games that has its basis on gameplay revolving around character nudity [in laymen's terms: a porn game] - or do we? See, I've never played it but using it as an example: let's say Hunie Pop (overt nudity example) features characters in various states of undress. Would it be OK to host these various states of undress (as it's basically just like removing layers; nothing is explicit. The character is just standing there but nude)? Full CG art depicting sexually suggestive or explicit sexual activity, of course, isn't allowed: that's porn.

Sorry if I'm all over the place here; I'm just trying to wrap my head around the topic lol.

The thing is, we already have porn games here, why not allow it to the fullest extent instead of dividing "good porn to post" and "porn not good to post"?
Even some of the Greek statues are specifically made to be seen as beautiful and sexy, thay had an entire god about the beauty of the body.
as for greek statues.... It's really that a debate? of course they are allowed, even without the nsfw mark
my suggestion is, or everithing porn-related is allowed, or nothing
or if a game has some kinky image no biggie
even then, let's define what IS porn and what isn't. Bayonetta is fully clothed, but really sexually aggressive, then you have some naked images, like the titans on SnK that aren't

i kinda even know poeple that got horny watching the mona lisa, is that allowed if it's in a game?
oh wait a second - I just realized this post is also in GD

yyyyyyyyyep lemme just move this thread over to Site Discussion being this is discussion about the site...there we go. You'll get a more straightforward answer here from the administrators, OP.

Actually, I'm gonna straight-up lock this as well, as the post sparked a pretty good discussion about how NSFW content is handled.
