Just a quick update - we had a pretty in-depth discussion with the staff and we're all in agreement that we need to draw a line as to what is and is not acceptable. From here out, games that are more porn than game are no longer permitted. NSFW content is still allowed when it's part of a "normal" (for lack of a better word) game but if basically the entire game is going to be hidden behind the NSFW filter, it probably doesn't belong. I'll work this into the actual rules and submission guidelines at some point but I wanted to at least make mention of it here. If anyone has any questions either about this rule change or about whether or not a potential game might fall afoul of this new rule, feel free to ask us before submitting.
Nice! Davias' sheets were out of control =P
- When me and Mr. C submitted our first NSFW rips, they were ok.
- Then the banhammer happened and they got deleted.
- After some time, Dazz started ripping NSFW sheets.
- Then after an even longer time, I started ripping them too. Others followed.
- Ripping from Full Service got the NSFW handler on the site, where people could choose if they want to see the sheets or not.
- Now it's too much and everything gets deleted again.
So yeah, it's pretty frustrating because I put months of work in them. You could have said something like "davy, no more or we swing the terminator club". Of course I would have stopped and go back to SFW rips. But without a proper warning and no way to see it coming, I feel extremely demotivated now.

You deleted Crimson Gray with like 40 sheets, where only 5 of them were NSFW. The list I gave you had NSFW sheets in it, but they were not always the majority.
Also I got this from Shade:
Quote:Hey Davy Jones,
So there's been a significant increase in ripped content from NSFW games coming from you lately and while it's not necessarily against our guidelines to submit content of that nature we do feel it's a bit too excessive and should maybe be toned down a tad. It might seem a tad silly but if you're going to rip from these games in the first place then I'd recommend really spacing out submissions to them if anything. It's all about the video games on VGR, but pornographic games give off a slightly different reputation than what we're going for, overall, and we want to avoid those games becoming too prevalent here on the site. It's fine to submit NSFW content, just reduce the quantity a bit.
I would have done that, sure, because it is your site and you can do whatever you want with it. But before I could react, I had the PM with Petie's message, where he said that everything got deleted.
So yeah, maybe it's a futile effort, but I'll try anyway: Is it possible to restore my NSFW rips if I go completely back to SFW rips like SNES or Playstation? I would also never rip from an NSFW game ever again and you can also take back my auto-approve rights if that makes you more comfortable. I'm saying that because it's hard to see all that hard work go to waste and apparently they are only a problem since I ripped too much from these games.
To be fair, Davias, we didn't know that when we put that system in place you would upload hundreds of extremely explicit porn sheets. It didn't exactly cross my mind, since until the point before then, that never happened. We've always had a pretty tame nature to the site until that point, so where you had the impression that we should suddenly host extremely large pieces of art showing hermaphrodites ejaculating over each other is beyond me. We can't warn against things we don't expect.
I gave our already established regular submitters with instant approval the benefit of the doubt on their understanding behind what this site is for. You took the decision into your own hands and pushed it into 12th gear. I'm not pointing the blame at you, I blame myself, but you cannot get angry at us because of your decision to push boundaries and force our hand.
Well, let's see about the deleted games (in ripped order):
[blah]
But the rest? If you rip from an erotic visual novel, of course the majority of the sheets contains erotic content. I'm not mad or anything, but surprised and frustrated at the same time. It's just sex, Petie made a cookie-based filter for it so everyone can enjoy it. But you even deleted the non-fetish games, games where SFW sheets were a majority and games without any NSFW content at all.
I'll take the blame for deleting the other games. I thought you had sent me a list of all games that were similar in nature to Full Service when this discussion started, not just any games you submitted that contained NSFW content at all. As such, and because I was tired at the time, I didn't actually review the games in question - just went straight down the list.
I think the point being made here is that the line is drawn at erotic visual novels as they are more porn than game. If there were games in this list that did not feature explicit sexual images, I wouldn't be against looking into restoring them (though that's a very manual process at the moment).
I think our line is being drawn at erotic content. If there are scenes that are extremely sexually explicit, even if there are only a few, it won't be accepted. Can you re-work that list?
Sexually not explicit, if only nudity is ok:
Girls and Dungeons
Daughter of Essence
Urban Demons
Completely SFW:
Town of Passion
Nunc Monstrum
Can you restore these and I tell you which ones are NSFW which then get deleted? As said, the vast majority is SFW:
Khendovir Chronicles: Rinets Quest
Crimson Gray

Okay, everything on this list has been restored pending review. There are some issues that need to be fixed sooner rather than later though, a big one being that all icons need to be completely appropriate at all times. For instance, there are a number of icons that are just a woman's chest zoomed in - these need to be changed. Icon names are important too and that last game, Crimson Gray, is a good example of what to avoid. Sexually explicit titles are still considered NSFW so I'd like those renamed as well. That said, looking at Crimson Gray, it seems like one that wouldn't wind up being allowed to stay in the end anyway so this particular example might not be so important.
Also, did Nunc Monstrum always only have one sheet? That's all I'm seeing in the restore but it seems like something is missing.
I'm not sure just deleting the explicit sheets is the way I want to go on this as the purpose of removing them is that the game as a whole is of a specific nature. Does anyone else want to weigh in here? My instinct is to complete remove Crimson Gray and Khendovir Chronicles: Rinets Quest but I'd like to hear some other opinions.
And this is the wrong instinct, since their main purpose is not being a porn game. The explicit scenes are about 2% of the whole game.
By the way, I've seen many actual porn games (with like 90% explicit content) on TSR with only SFW sheets.
Except the issue is those exceptionally explicit scenes. If it's showing sex, it's too much at this point. There may very well be other games like it but it was the mass submission without oversight of these games recently that finally caught our attention.
How could you oversee them? When I submitted the sexy stuff from Seeds of Chaos months ago, it was even more NSFW then now. I thought you knew all about this and were fine with it.
You were even so liberal that you approved shota content (little boy porn which even I wouldn't touch with a pincer). You also knew about the hardcore gay porn in Full Service and you thought it was ok.
Now that I rip around 65 sheets with nude monstergirls and a handfull of sex scenes the jig is up. One word from you and I would have stopped. But instead you escalated it to the max where even Safe-for-work sheets are suddenly a menace when they come from the "wrong game".
