For the past two days I've been trying to rip sound effects from Super Mario Odyssey and I ended up with a series of .bfsar and .bfgrp files.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any plugins for VGMToolbox regarding Switch sound files, and I know that there have been others successful in doing this because of the SMO page on the Sounds Resource. If anyone could share the method that led to your success, that would be greatly appreciated. :^)
Thanks in advance.
After looking at the files again, I figured out the solution myself. All I had to do was extract the bfwar and then the bfwav files from the bfsar/bfgrp. The Wii U plugins for VGMToolbox work if the endian is changed for both plugins (Search String: FEFF -> FFFE & Endianess: Big -> Little). From there it was very straight-forward.

The way you extracted them no longer works for me. I've changed the Search String to FEFF and the Endianess to Little in VGMToolbox, and it says "complete" but ultimately it doesn't do anything. It's supposed to make a "cut" folder with the extracted files inside. (I'm using

Do you know how I could work around this? I've checked to see if my bfsar is corrupted/broken and it isn't. I also don't know what to do with bfgrp files, same with .cgrp files (for 3DS)
I'm a high quality ripper by the way, which is why I'm doing this.
A reply giving more inside would be cool, thanks.
