Hi guys!
I'm new here and trying to rip 3D models from Ridge Racer Type 4. I've already tried using psxmultiripper, psxprev and Reptile's tools. None worked. Psxprev doesn't even work well in Windows 10.
Any other idea?
Thanks.
Try extracting the files from the iso and put out a download link to them.
Hi again,
sorry for the late answer. I made little progress ripping the CD files and trying to open them. In the attachment you can see the file structure.
This is what I found:
-FILE.DAT: compressed file? Not able to open.
-R4.BIN: compressed file? Not able to open.
-R4.STR: looks like a video file, not able to open it however.
-SLUS_007.97: no idea, some type of error codes/debugging?
-SYSTEM.CNF: autorun/config?
Hi again,
I made little progress. Loos like the interesting file is R4.BIN.
I found some dialogs and textures inside.
Now I have to find the models. This is going to be really difficult beacuse I have no idea about the file structure. First I have to find the vertices, then faces, then texture coordinates.
However, I suppose vertices are stored as integers because the PSX lacks a floating point unit according to the WipeOut files. Source:

Right now I'm using 3D Model Researcher to find them. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
