Go for it, but if it's the playable characters, do so without the weapons, so they're actually useful.
Boo has ripped most, if not all of the enemies, and a few of the rival smiths, although the rivals have several poses missing.

what do you mean?

If you plan to rip the playable characters from Summon Night (Cleru and Pratty, right?) Then make sure that you rip them without the weapons visible. This gives them more uses than having the weapon they were carrying permenantly lodged in their hand (the weapons have all been ripped anyway). Also be aware that their moveset changes depending on the type of weapon equipped.
Another user called Boo has also been ripping from Summon Night, although he's ripped the enemies, rather than the player characters. He's finished nearly all the monsters, but the rips of human foes are incomplete.
Although I've just hit a notion: Which SN game did you mean exactly? There are several; I'm assuming you mean Summon Night: Swordcraft Story on the GBA. If not, then you can disregard my earlier post.

Can we work together on this? I was thinking about ripping the same game as well. It'd be faster and better if we work together.
