Still need two frames for his idle animation. Those two will lead to the next block, containing three other similar sprites, and then there're two more to do similar to the idle sprites I have now, and then there's one more that'll need to be done completely custom. Then there're the various things he spits out of his mouth.
Good god Acro takes a long time to sprite.

Now i can do...
Those rainbow sword sprites still bother me. They seem so lazily done, and I still think there should be more flying poses. That slashing pose looks so unsatisfactory, too. Can someone animate those things?

Yep, I stand by my statement completely. He looks stiff as he slashes. His body should be moving a bit, since he's in free-float. The sword also stops abruptly. and almost in mid swing. I think the sword's position should be much lower after the slash, with one more frame at the end of it, so it looks more like he's fluidly slashing.
Yeah, definitely needs some work. But right now what bothers me even more is the squarishness of the petals in Dark Matter's facing-forward poses.

Anyways, I really need to focus on one project at a time and stop letting myself get distracted with things like this:

The halo needs some work but other than that I think it's a good start.

If I remember Rainbow Sword correctly, didn't Kirby slash twice per swing? One slash down and back again?

Oh so this is based off of the KDL2 version, and not KDL3?
i think the biggest problem with the dark matter sprites is the idea that it is based off of the older games completely. The swing for kirby in those games were good...for that time, but now I'd expect a lot more out of kirby's swing. Kirby's swing can't just be 4 frames with a quick slash effect. It needs to match what kssu had for attacks, which had a warm up pose leading to the swing, the effect of the swing, then kirby ending the swing; both the warm up pose and ending swing had small effects to show that the attack was starting or ending. Also the swing from the rainbow sword had some type of star effect to make it "special" from the normal sword swing.
Dark Matter just doesn't look KSSU style...
