Quote:A sequel could well be in the works for one of Nintendo DS’s hits of 2008 ’The World Ends With You’ but it might not return to the DS.

In an IGN interview with Tatsuya Kando, director of The World Ends With You, Kando discussed the possibility of a sequel but maybe not on the DS, expressing his interest in the Wii: "Even though the Wii and DS seem similar, the stylus and Wii-remote are completely different, so naturally some alterations would become necessary to adjust the game for the Wii."

Kando went on to talk about his appreciation of how the game has been recieved: "We’re very thankful that this title has been received so well, and as we see that there is demand from both Japanese and American fans, we would definitely like to consider the possibility of a sequel. Since it is not possible to get right into development at this moment, please give us a little more time."
Oh god yes.

I'd like to see what they do on the Wii, but It might be safer to stay on the DS.
OMG!
One of the best game I played ever! (perhaps the best xD)
hmm....for Wii? well, but they can make two version, one for DS and other for Wii =3
I'd much rather a DS sequel... so we can rip it.
But no, seriously, as lame is this might sound coming from me, the success of the game and general feel was brought on by the 2D graphics and various ways of using a stylus that are unique and were never really used by many other DS games. If you bring it to the Wii... Everything has been done. Take a single game, entirely out of a random list, say... Oh, Wario Ware. That game has used everything that you can imagine to use the wii remote for.

TWEWY was effectively the same, using everything that the stylus can offer.
What really made it an awesome game was, the graphics, the gameplay, the design and the music, all core things in making a game.

The Wii can not offer "impressive" 3D graphics, let's be honest, so if they want a successful looking game, they should stick to 2D on the Wii, keep the same design and feel, and try and be as inovative as they can with what the Wiimote will do. And hire the exact same people for the soundtrack. Seriously. And tell them to make albums together. Lots of albums.
If they do make it for wii, I agree with dazz, keep it 2-d. HD graphics ala SSF2THD would be really awesome. It might even be okay if they went a bit Viewtiful Joe style and made it so the effects are paper.

This. I mean look at Wario Land, that had some really cool graphics (in my opinion).

Seriously, every time I read this title, I think of a James Bond movie.
